This was My first week back to school with my students. Most of my students are very good and I think that I am going to like most of my classes. My English co-teaching class is not good and it has made for a very rough week. It is the class that I end my day with and my co-teacher and I have two very different teaching styles. By Friday I ended up having to sit her down and talk to her because there is no way that I am going to be able to make it all year with the kids going all crazy it class. Besides that class everything else teaching wise went great, but teaching special education there is a lot more then just teaching. I again this year have parents that are going to keep me on my toes. I have already had 3 meeting with one parent and by Friday afternoon she had called the school wanting to speak with me again. I tried to call her back once but since there was no answer I just walked away and went home. I am going to work really hard not to give parents my cell phone number this year because of parents trying to call me so much last year. I really need to try and leave work at work and take less of it home with me.
CJ and I are not sure what to think of her new teacher and class this year. She did tell me that she has to take naps at school and does not like it. I told her that she has always had to take a nap during the day or at least just lay down with her eyes closed. Some times at home she will not take a nap, but I think that with all that they are learning at school this year her little brain needs a nap still during the day.
CJ has also started with the really funny stories again. She has been on his kick about her castle. She told me the other day that I could not throw away a can because we recycle at our house. She told me that her pink castle is near the recycling center and that she will draw me "Correction" to her castle and the recycling center. I have no idea were she gets the whole recycling thing from or the pink castle. But the next day at school during her free draw time she draw me directions or as CJ said, "Corrections" to her pink Castle. They were pink directions too. I love her stories and her words for things. Her word for directions being "corrections", Jay says is very fitting because most men only look at directions after they have put something together wrong and need to correct it.
Today we went to the Spring water Festival at the Park here in town. We had a lot of fun walking around and getting lots of free samples. They free face painting, but CJ had her paint on her hand a flower instead of painting her face. CJ also got to play some games and won a necklace for playing. She wanted the necklace over any of the candy. I was go glad. She did get a lot of candy while we were there. I only spend $3. 25 all day. I got her a fancy butterfly lollipop, a small bad of Kettle corn, a hot dog, chips, and a brownie. It was a really fun busy day for very little money. You just have to love free, fun, family activities.
