Yesterday was Jay’s 40th birthday. I made him all of his favorite things for breakfast: eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, and bacon. We then started to work on fixing up the spare room. I made Jay a motorcycle over the hill cake for this birthday. I took about 4 different ideas from other cakes I had seen on the internet and put them together to make his cake. CJ and I then went to the store and get him black balloon. We then surprised him with having a dinner party with friends. We had steak, shrimp, deviled eggs, pasta salad, and baked French fries. Jay was very surprised and we all had a good time. I gave him an over the hill hat and a card.
During the day the neighbor’s dog came over for its daily visit with Jay. This time he brought the dog in the house. The neighbors are a very young couple with several dogs that they let roam the neighborhood. This dog this a Boston Bull Terrier and very skinny. Jay is always telling me that he would like to keep the dog. I told him that I do not like inside pets of any kind and that a dog is just too much work. The next thing that I know he was up at the neighbors, which I thought was to take the dog back, but it was to ask if we could keep it. They let Jay keep their dog. We now have an inside dog that I am not happy about at least he does not chow things up.
