Sunday we had our first day of Hebrew school. CJ only has 2 other students in her class and they are both boys. Even her new teacher in male, I was very surprised that she went with him and had not problems working for him. I think that this is the first time that she has had a male teacher that she has work for and not gone screaming to me. I do not know if it is because she is getting older or because her teacher has a beard and is big like her dad. She did not what me to go in the room with her and help her out this year in her class. So I am going to help out in the bookstore this year instead. CJ seemed to really like her class and they made cards for Rosh Hashanah. CJ when she colored her honey made it rainbow colored.
On Tuesday CJ got into trouble for the first time at school. She was singing in a bathroom were the sound echoes and bothers other classes. She had been told before not to do that. She was also playing and poking her friends in the bathroom. When she came out and was told that she was not to do that she lied and told the teacher that it was not her, but the teacher had seen her do it. We had to have a very long talk about not lying to the teachers and listening.
On Thursday CJ started her baton lessons. She seemed to have had really good time. Parents are not aloud to go in the room with them. I was able to watch through the window. After getting in the car and going home CJ was telling me that she did not what do baton. I thought maybe it was because she was tired and I was right come the next morning after she had a good night sleep she told me that she wanted to do baton.
On Friday CJ and Jay were working on making words with the letter magnets on the refrigerator. CJ started with the word “zoo.” So Jay said, “From zoo you can make too.” Then he said, “What does a cow say?” CJ said, “Moo.” Then Jay said, “What does daddy says when he is trying to scare you?” CJ said, “Boo.” Then Jay said, “And what are you?” And CJ said, “A Jew.” She got the rhyming part right just a little off with the spelling.
