Do not Hit Boys

You would think that with 5 days off of work I would have gotten lots done around the house. Wrong, I was not at home but to cook. Friday I had CJ’s first parent teacher conference. It was weird sitting on the other side of the table. CJ’s teacher told me that she was doing very well academically. She knew all of her letter sounds, was trying to sound out words, was about to write a sentence starting with a capital letter and ending with a period (Now I can have her teach my 6th graders how to do that, because I can not get my students to do that.), she has mastered all of the 1st 9 weeks kindergarten standards. Then she says but socially CJ is not just friends with one person she gets along with everyone and most of the time she has no problems with her friends. But she can get an attitude when she does not what to do something and she has no passions with boys in class. If a girl takes a toy that belongs to her she will ask for it back, but if a boy takes it she will just hit him. If a girl is in her spot she will ask her to move, but if a boy is in her spot she just hits them. So we had to have a long talk about having more passions with boys.

After CJ’s conference we came home and baked cupcakes for the Oneg and then went to teach my homebased student. After work, I came home and baked cookies, brownies, lemon bars, and blintzes for the Oneg. Jay helped me frost cupcakes and gave CJ her bath so we would make it to Temple on time for CJ’s consecration. CJ did a really good job standing up on the bema but she would not say the Sham’a.

On Saturday we cleaned house and then went to Boo in the Park for trick or treating. We went with some friends. CJ was really bad and did not want to stay with the people that we came with. She met another friend from her class and wanted to play with her. I did let her because I want her to met new people to. I probably should not have just taken her home and not gave into her tantrum, but I did not and just let her play until she was so tired she could not stop crying.

Sunday we went to Hebrew school and all the kindergartners dressed up for Halloween. After Hebrew School we went to Charlotte to visit my sister. She took us to the Mall. The Bass Pro Shop had a lot of fun activities for the kids to do. We walked around the mall and CJ played in the play area. It was a good time but we did not leave until let. As I was about 30 minutes down the road Wendy called to tell me that CJ had left her stuffed Unicorn. She told me she could not sleep with out her Uni, so I turned around and went back to get it. Lucky Wendy said that she would meet me about half way back. I was so glad, but I know that I could not have left with her toy.

Monday we slept in. I have to work for 2 hours and CJ came with. She always like going to the library. Tuesday CJ and I went to vote and then grocery shopping. In the evening we had our first Daisy troop meeting. The troop leader was very good and had lots of activities to keep the kids busy and it was really great. CJ had a good time, but again we did not get home until late. I was surprise that CJ got up for school this morning and was a good girl all day.

When we got home from school Jay had put a stew in the crock pot for us. Like always he put to much water in it. So I was just saying out loud that there was too much water in the stew and CJ said, “Well you know, you just need to talk to boy about things that bother you.” That is my girl I guess she was listening on Friday.
