Girl Scouts and more

Such a busy week, that it takes me until Wednesday because I even get to write a blog about last weeks events.

CJ had Girl Scouts on Tuesday and they made signs for a community clean up project they the troop will be working on. They made the signs to hang up in businesses. CJ hung hers up at the chiropractor’s office. I made her ask to hung it up and she was so excited about being able to hang her sign and that she was working to help the community.

Friday CJ had her fall carnival at school. I kept calling it a fall festival and CJ would get made at me and tell me that there is no such thing as a fall festival and it was a fall carnival that her school was having. At the carnival CJ was not being on her best behavior. She was running off and was not saying thinking for what she was receiving. I was getting more and more upset with her. I was not going to have a child that was not grateful for everything that she gets. So we rushed her through and left.

I was very stressed over the weekend trying to get my homework done for my class and all the activities that CJ had so I was in no mood to deal with a child that was not happy with all the things that I do for her. CJ was supposed to go to a birthday party on Saturday and I was just going to skip it. I told CJ that if she was good and let me get the house clean and get some studying done I would take her to the party. I almost forgot about it until 10 minutes before the party started Jay walked in and ask if we were going. CJ jumped up and begged to go. CJ put on her Halloween costume because it was a costume party and I went as a stressed out college student with my hair a mess, ball cap on, college sweatshirt, and ripped jeans. The party was nice and CJ was somewhat well behaved.

On Sunday we had Hebrew school and I was really glad that it was Simchat Torah and I did not have to do a lot just bring the kids to the service and watch the kids as they open the Torah. After we left Hebrew school we had to run back to Williamston because CJ had a trip to the pumpkin patch with her Girl Scout troop. It was very busy but CJ had a great time at the pumpkin patch she sang all the songs and did all the activities and did not complain at all. I do not know if it was because I told her that if she was not having fun or told me she did not feel good once we were going straight home. The only think that she did not really what to do more than once was feed the goats because she did not like the way that it felt with them eating out of her hand. After the event was over we sat with one of the ladies and girls from our troop and I got upset at the way the girls were complaining about having to come to the pumpkin patch and how offal it was. I can see were CJ is picking up this negative entitlement attitude from. CJ is very much a follower and will follow what ever her friends are doing. I am so going to have to be careful with this and I had a long talk with CJ about how much better it is when you appreciate what you are given. I think that she understood some of what I was staying.
