Back to talk about all the other advantages in May. CJ and I want to the Girl Scout zoo day that
was the girls reward for selling over 300 boxes of cookies. It was a very long day we had to get up and
meet everyone at town hall at 7:00 am. Then
we drove to the Riverbank Zoo in Columbia.
We were at the zoo until 8:30 at night, because after the Zoo closed at
6:00 we had a Bejeweled class were the girls learned about the rain forest and
got to make jewelry. CJ had a great time
but I had trouble staying awake for the drive home.
CJ had a rough time at school. Before spring break CJ had gotten in trouble at
school for hitting another little girl because the little girl would not give
up her chips to CJ. CJ had to serve administration
after school detention. Jay and I were not happy with her and we had a long
talk about bullying. She was grounded
and could not us electronics or have any deserts. Then right before Memorial Day I got another
call from the principal saying that CJ had hit a little boy with a book. She told us that they little boy was jumping
around so she picked up a book and hit him on the bottom. This time she had to serve a half a day in
school suspension. She told me that it
was not fun and that people were mean to her in the office. I told her that was a good thing, because
they were not happy with her behavior. I
had also been told by the principal that she had been in earlier that week because
she was showing students on the computer the statue of David. I am not sure want to do about CJ’s
behavior. We have been everything that
we can think of to discipline her.
For Memorial Day weekend, Jay’s brother came down and we all
want to Croft state park to go camping. This weekend end was Jay and mine 11th
year anniversary of the weekend that we met.
I cannot believe that it has been 11 years. We had a great weekend. Besides, Jay, CJ, and Ron got lots of boating
and fishing in (no one caught a thing all weekend) we also went to a Zoo called
Hollywild. It has zoo animals that have
been in movies and you are able to get up close to most of the animals and feed
them. During one of the shows that we
stopped to watch they had his baby bear out that they were showing us. The Bear run from the handler and over to where
Jay was standing and tried to climb the fence to get over to Jay. The training said that the bear most of
thought that Jay was his daddy. So all
day we picked on Jay about going to the zoo to see his family. I cannot believe that the trainer said that
but it was funny.
It was a fun relaxing weekend that I think that we all
needed. For one of the days that we were,
two little girls camped in the spot next to ours. CJ had fun playing with the girls and I was
hoping that they would stay longer but they did not. The mom did not like all the dirt from camping
so they left pretty quickly after the one night.
That Tuesday after Memorial Day CJ had her awards day. She got an award for Highest average in Social
Studies, Highest average in Math, and A/B honor roll all year. I was very proud of her. I know that she was not going to get the citizens
award, but academic awards are always good. During the last week of school CJ got to teach a
lesson. She wanted to teach her class
how to twirl a baton, so Jay and I ordered her
party batons for all the kids in her class.
She had so much fun teaching them how to twirl. She said that a lot of the kids even took
there new batons out to recess that day to play with them.
We have enjoyed having mom here and I think mom has enjoyed
being here and relaxing.
