I can not believe that another month has gone by. CJ has a lot of things going on this year so
all week we are running. Monday CJ has
baton lessons, which she loves but this year she just does not pick up her
baton during the week to practice.
Tuesday is Girl Scouts. We have
been working on our Get Moving journey so we went to the World of Energy at the
Oconee Nuclear Plant. The day that we
were there they had the DNR there talking about protecting the environment. The girls were also able to do archery, canoeing,
shooting air rifles, watch a demonstration on tying flies, and many other
activities. CJ wanted to do it all so we
were the last ones to leave. When CJ was
trying to fly fishing the guy told me that CJ was a natural at it. CJ loved pretending to fly fish and the fact
that she got to learn a new move that her dad had not taught her yet. CJ had a
great time that day and it was really hard to get her to leave.
Wednesdays CJ has Hebrew
School . She is enjoying it very this year. One of the little boys that have been in CJ’s
Hebrew class since they were in preschool, Miles ,
his mother is teaching it this year. Miles
at the beginning of the year told his mother that CJ does not like donut holes
so as a treat she has to get something else for CJ. His mom and I thought that it was so cute
that he know CJ so well and was looking out for her. During the High Holy Days CJ and I took off
of school just for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur was on a Saturday. CJ during the children’s service got to do 2
readings on the Bema. She did an amazing
job reading and I was so proud of her.
She was not nervous at all and everyone came up to her and told her what
a great job she did after the service.
On Yom Kippur
Jay even came with us to services to see CJ
read on the Bema. I think that really
made CJ very happy.
After Yom Kippur services I had to go to Camp
Wabak for a Girl Scout
training. It was an over night event and
I was very nervous about going by myself.
Jay and CJ put a sweet card in my bag so
that when I unpacked I would find that they were thinking about me. The training was not so bad and CJ and Jay
had a good father daughter evening. They
went fishing and out of Mexican Food, CJ’s favorite.
Last Wednesday was Sukkot.
CJ and I want to the cookout. CJ
took off with her friends to make things for the Sukkah. She made a bow that was like the one in her
hair and chain to hang from the roof.
She did not want to shack the Lulav and etrog, but I had her do it
anyway so that I could get a picture and she would be blessed all year.
Thursdays CJ goes to Palmetto Singer and recorder
choir. Recorder Choir is in the morning,
but Palmetto Singers is after school, so CJ’s friend Claire ’s
mother picks her up and Claire and CJ get to
play for a while after school.
Saturdays and Sundays have been filled with birthday
parties. CJ has gone to a dance party,
Tie Dye party, and a roller skating party.
We have been staying very busy.
This last Saturday we finally made it to the American girl
doll club meeting. And now it is time
for us to start getting the camper ready for our annual camping trip to the
beach.
