July 2018

The rest of the summer was such a whirlwind.  I just do not know where it went. We sent the first part of the month working on the house and making decorations for CJ's Bat Mitzvah.    Jay and I  reupholster chairs it was our first time doing anything like that so it did not turn out great but they looked so much better. I also love my new floors in the kitchen.

I also cut out music notes to go in the centerpiece Jars. Flags for the selfie booth and a card box that CJ made with all of her favorite things on it. I am so happy to have so many things getting completed.

As the Bat Mitzvah got closer people started to call or text to RSVP and that is when I realized that my phone was not working right and I was not getting calls.  I did not what to spend the money to get a new phone because of all that we were spending on the Bat Mitzvah.  But Jay found a phone for cheap and told me that I had to get to because of all that was going on and people needed to get in touch with me.

The new Rabbi can and we set up meeting so CJ could start tutoring again for her Bat Mitzvah.  It had been a long time since CJ had tutoring but she has learned her Torah and Haftorah portion on her own.  I was so happy that the new Rabbi was here to start working with CJ.  They seem to get along great.

CJ did her July volunteer at the American Girl Club.  She taught the girls how to make paper flowers.
On Tuesday I took CJ to the dentist for a cleaning. They decided without telling me to put a sealant on her teeth. She came out of the office and after a bit, she said her face was burning and red. We were on our way to Greenville to have lunch with Mrs. Margy and go swimming so I had CJ just try to wash her face.  After lunch and swimming for just a little while CJ said that her face was really burning and hurt.  So I had her get out of the pool and we ran her back to the dentist. I was not happy about calling my visit with Mrs. Margy short but we had to.  The dentist did not know what was causing her face to burn. They washed gave her Benedryl and sent her home. They said that it may have been an allergic reaction to the sealant. This morning she said it does not burn any more but she has a big mark on her face. This was only 9 days before her Bat Mitzvah. I hoped it heals quickly so that she would not have a big mark on her face for her Bat Mitzvah.

The next day my mother flew in for CJ's Bat Mitzvah.  And the rush and stress really began.  My mom's plane was late and when she got there the airport could not find her luggage including her walker. The people were very nice at the airport but we were there until almost 1 a.m. in the morning trying to locate her luggage which we think was still in Phoenix. We got back to the house really late.  Jay gave mom a shirt of his to wear for bed and the next morning we got up ran to Freds for underwear.  I let mom wear one of my dresses for the day while we could go shopping and get her some new clothes. We went to Goodes and then to the Mall.  It was stressful but a fun day shopping.  I found just the right dress for mom for CJ's Bat Mitzvah.  It was a beautiful dress and looked great on her. The airline was really great able making sure that mom had a walker.  They were not able to rent one for her so they bought her a new one.  Mom did not like it as much as her old one but it worked great and was very nice.  The next day the airline was able to find her luggage and brought it right to the house.
Friday I took mom to get her hair cut so that she had a new hairstyle for the Bat Mitzvah and CJ had her hair touched up.  I could not believe the change in mom after having her hair done.  she looked so much younger and CJ's stylist did a great job. In her new dress and hair, we went to temple for a wonderful service.  Our new Rabbi is so different but I really like him.
The next day we got up and drove to Rome, Georgia so that I could show mom her grandmothers grave site.  I also took her the Cave Springs museum and the cemetery that her Great Great grandfather and grandmother what raised her grandmother were buried.  Mom said that this was on her bucket list that she wanted to do, so I thought that this was a perfect time.

Sunday we got up to CJ's 13th birthday.  I made her a small sample cake that I was hoping to make for the Bat Mitzvah.  I make her breakfast in bed of mini muffins and a yogurt parfait.  We then got up and went to get our nails done but it being Sunday nothing was opened. So we came home for lunch.  We decided to give CJ one of her present early so that she could enjoy it all day.  She got her first phone, CJ was so excited and happy.  She was putting in everyone number and texting everyone.  We then went to Choir practice were in was also Alisha's birthday.  So we had cake and everyone sang happy birthday in Hebrew to the two of them.  I pulled CJ a little early from practice so that we could take her to the movies.  She wanted to go see "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom."  Movie number 5 or something like that in the Jurassic Park series.  Cj really enjoyed it.  Mom did not but it was CJ's birthday and we were all happy to see CJ's joy.  We then took her to dinner at Olive Garden because that is where she wanted to go on her birthday.  We had a very nice dinner but forgot how expensive that place is.  It is definitely a birthday play only. We then came home and opened the rest of CJ's presents.  It was such a nice day and CJ said that it was the best birthday.  I think that was only because she got a phone.

The next day I took CJ to go get her nails done because we were not able to on Sunday.
On Tuesday the last day of the month.  I took CJ to go get her well baby check up.  She was healthy but her doctor talked to her about making sure that she eats healthy and not just all meat.  She had to eat some vegetables too.  CJ hates her vegetables. That evening We were to go get Lydia from the airport.  The plane was deleted but not for very long.  We were able to pick her up and we were all excited. It was so cute how tiny my nieces were compared to CJ.  they are so much older than her but she could tuck them under her armpit.
