July 2020

July went by faster then I thought it would because I was not able to do anything.  I did not heal as fast as I wanted to from my hip replacement.  The Museum opened and CJ tried to get some volunteer hours but everyone snatched them up faster then she could answer the email.  I told her that was good because I was not really driving yet.

Lydia got Disney Plus and shared it was CJ.  CJ was so excited because they had the play "Hamilton" recorded on it and she so wanted to see it because everyone was talking about how great Hamilton was.  So we watched it.  It was a good play, CJ wanted to music because she felt that she would understand the play better if she could really see the lyrics.  She said that rap music was a little hard for her to understand until she could see the music.  Later in the month, her piano teacher assignment the song "Dear Theodosia" after that CJ seemed to really love the music.

For the 4th a July we could not really go anywhere and they had consulted the Williamston town fireworks show.  So Jay bought CJ some fireworks to set off here at the house.  This was the first time in her life that we have not gone to the park or downtown to watch the Williamston fireworks show.  This is just the strangest year ever.  CJ had lots of fun lighter her own fireworks so I guess it was a good change.
The next weekend we decided to go to Georgia to see Garrett for his birthday. We thought that it would be fun to leave Friday after Jay got done with work and get a hotel in Madison.  This way I did not have to ride so long in a car.  We had a very nice trip to Madison and the restaurant that we were going to eat was really busy so we found another one to go it.  It was very fancy, but the food was so good. It was fun going to a fancy restaurant.

The hotel that we got was not the best but it worked and the next day we got up and drove the first of the way to Garrett's.  We got to Macon early and Garrett was not ready to meet us.  So we hung out at the plaza.  CJ stated that she wanted to get her ears pierced for a second time.  So we went to Claires and she was able to get her ears pierced. She was so happy.
We then went to lunch with Garrett. He wanted to go to a Mexican restaurant.  We had a very nice visit and even got to embarrass Garrett by telling them that it was his birthday so they came over and sang happy birthday to him.  He said that he did not what that to happen but I think deep down he really enjoyed it.  We then went to the Bass Pro Shop before heading home for the day.
The next 2 weeks were getting ready for CJ's birthday and I still had physical therapy.  I did get permission to start driving again which made CJ very happy.  We went shopping trying to find a new dress for her, but with not being able to try anything on it was hard.  All the stores had there dressing rooms closed due to the pandemic.  I just told CJ to try things on over her clothes.  We were not able to find much. CJ wanted a Unicorn birthday party so we did have lots of fun finding unicorn things for the party.  CJ had fun making party favors for her friends.

As we were shopping I had found that people were just not very nice.  I do not know if with everyone having to wear masks or the fact that people are just not able to go anywhere are making the mean.  I guess that I was glad that I have been stuck in the house for the last couple of months. The world is just not the same these days.  I have to stop watching the news because it is just so sad seeing the people rioting in the streets and everyone being so negative.  It is just not good.  I did find the people at Party City to be very helpful and understanding with CJ's birthday party.  I had to return some things and they did not have what CJ wanted in stock so they helped me find something that would work.  It the end CJ was happy with the changes.  She was not happy at first but in the end, she was happy with her party supplies.

CJ had 4 friends over for her party.  CJ had planned the whole thing herself.  All the games and activities.  They did string art, games, a movie, facials, and lunch. CJ had so much fun with her friends and it was good to hear all the laughter.

Millie stayed the night so she went to dinner with us that night.  CJ wanted to go out for Pho.  CJ and Millie got a Boba but then found out that they did not like it.  Millie thought that she liked it at first and then found that it was just too sweet.  CJ got one too but still did not like it.  Jay does not like Veitnomes' food so it was funny that he ordered a corn dog and fries for his dinner off the kid's menu. We had gotten CJ a new phone and tablet for her birthday.  She was so excited.  Restory got her the covers for the phone and tablet.  CJ was so cute Restory had gotten her 2 different covers for her phone and she could not decide which one to use.
