July 2023

After all the adventures in June, the first part of July was just time to do laundry and get caught up on my things to do at home list.  CJ needed to work and make up some money before going to college.  We also spent a lot of time finding out what she needed for college and working on getting them.

On the 4th CJ had to work but Jay did not so we decided to go see Garrett for his birthday.  CJ stayed home and after work, she went over to her boyfriend's mom's home to spend the 4th of July with her.  We took Garrett to lunch and then to Bass Pro Shop.  We then come home.

Not much happened until the end of the month.  Jay and I did not even watch the fireworks on the 4th.  CJ did with Connor's mom.  They went to Unity Park in Greenville and watch the fireworks.  Jay and I went and got new glasses,  CJ and I had dentist appointments,  and I took the cats to the vet.  We went and had CJ's birthday pictures done.  We also had some done in her cap and gown because we had Graduation pictures done. We were both very happy with the pictures.

Jay did come on from work and say that his hours were changing.  He was moving to a new building and they wanted him to be a manager.  This is not what Jay wanted because he is not interested in being a manager.  But after thinking about it and the pay increase he took the job.  He was okay with it because at this time he was just the supervisor of himself.  He has no other people to make sure they are doing their job or asking him a bunch of questions.  This may change in time but he is good with it at this time.

We woke up one morning and found that our downstairs air conditioner was not working.  Jay had to take it apart and figure out why it was not working.  We had to order parts so we went 2 weeks without air conditioning downstairs.  I was surprised that it was not so bad.

The next week CJ and I took care of things around the house and had lunch with friends. That weekend we got to see the Musical SIX.  This is CJ's favorite musical and she had been looking forward to seeing this for a year. Ever since we got the season tickets.  We got dressed up and went to dinner.  The show was great.  It was so different than the other plays that we had seen and I very much enjoyed it.

The next week CJ had to go off to Lander for orientation.  She was going to be gone was 3 days learning about the college and expectations.  I had to go back to work.  It was weird going back so soon.  But I was glad to have the distraction from knowing CJ was away.  On Thursday, I had to take the day off work because Jay was having surgery on his leg to help get blood flow back in his legs.

CJ came back that evening and wanted to go see the Barbie movie with her boyfriend's mother.  They invited me to go with them because I kept wanting to take CJ to the Barbie movie.  Rhonda got CJ an "I am 18" princess crown and sash.  I would have never thought to get her anything like that.  They both told me it was because I was not very girly. It was a nice evening and I liked Rhonda.

On Saturday CJ's Birthday, we all went to get tattoos and then I took the girl's ax throwing. Only my daughter would wear a white dress with teira to get a tattoo and go ax throwing. I made peanut butter cup cupcakes for her birthday. Garrett came down for CJ's Birthday it was the first time ever in her life that he was able to spend her birthday with her. I was so surprised that he came down and really glad.  He wanted to go ax throwing with us but Meghan did not have the correct shoes so after tattoos and dinner they went home with Jay.  Jay is always happy to have both his kids with him.  CJ loved having everyone with her and I think that she had a great time for her birthday.  Most of the things that we got her for her birthday were things for her dorm room.  The Tattoo was her big gift.  It was such a fun day.  It was scary how much life would change next month.
