The New Year is already flying by. We did not do anything for New Years Eve and New Years day we just worked around the house. In the evening CJ and I went to Rabbi Holly’s house for dinner. Most of the children were playing Wii and we just do not have video games here at our house so CJ had no idea what they were doing. She just found a coloring book and started to color. She then talked the other kids into running around and playing with her. That is my girl; she will just get people to spend time with her.
As the new week started, we went back to school. CJ at first was not happy about getting up and wanting to go back to school. This was a first in a long time. She is always happy to see her friends after not going for a while. Not always happy about having to get out of bed, but happy about seeing her friends. She just wanted to stay home with me. I told her that I was leaving and she had to come with me. After we got to school she was so happy to be there and at the end of the day she did not even what to leave because she was having too much fun playing with her friends.
On Friday CJ was to have show and tell at school they were to bring a small gift that they got for Christmas. Poor CJ freaked out. She told me that she did not any small toys for Christmas and that she had nothing to bring. I told her that she could bring one of her Hanukkah gifts that she got. She had lots of small things she got for Hanukkah. She told me that it was to be a Christmas gift. I argued with her about it and told her it does not matter. We finely argued that she would take her Max doll and the book “Where the Wild Things Are” that goes with Max, even though she got him for Hanukkah. It turned out that she teacher told her here that the book was her favorite and had CJ goes lost for Show and tell so that she could read CJ’s book to the whole class. She really made CJ feel special and I was so glad that we choose that Hanukkah gift to take.
I this week have not been feeling good. I think that I have a cool and migraines. I have gotten so far behind on my work. I am just hoping that this weekend I can work on getting caught up and get rid of this cool.
Earlier this week my mom’s Hanukah gift came for CJ. It was am 18 inch doll named Gracie. CJ loves this doll. It has not left her side since the day she pulled it from the box. She told me that Gracie can talk but she just does not what to talk to me. Gracie has to get her shoes on and ride in the other car seat in the car going to school everyday; though Gracie has to stay in the car while CJ is at school. CJ told me that Gracie needed a coat because it was cold and we did not have one, so we just rapped her in a blanket. Gracie needed a bed so one night we made a bed on CJ’s chair for her. The next night Jay got out CJ’s old bassinet and we put it together. CJ loves rolling it around the house with Gracie in it. Last night at Temple CJ had to take Gracie with and she even got to go on the bema help read from the Torah. CJ even had to wear a dress that was similar to Gracie.
Today it is off to another one of CJ’s friends birthday parties and then to Hebrew school. Just a busy day in the life of a very social child.
