This has been a very busy week and it just is going to get busier. Friday CJ had a “Princess” party with her dance school. They had pizza, nail painting, make-up, and learned a new dance and cheer. The party was from 6 until 8:30 I was very surprised that CJ made it that late at night and did not have a melt down even on the way home. She was so wound up after wards that she would not even go to sleep when we got home. Parents were not supposed to be at the party. It was a drop off thing. I just could not do that, so I stayed for a while and then waiting in the lobby were I was able to watch her but she could not see me. I meant to work on grading paper while I waited but I just like to talk too much and I got talking with another parent. I did not even get one paper graded. On Saturday I just told CJ and they were going to stay home and do nothing. Yah right, I cleaned the house, did laundry, iron clothes, painted the trim in Dad’s bedroom, and grade papers. I guess nothing meant not leaving the house. Sunday we had Hebrew school. They had there annual model Seder dinner for the kids. We colored, run around, make cups for the dinner, and read the story of Passover. At the model dinner CJ eat the hard boiled egg. I could not believe it. This was the first time I have ever seen her eat and egg. Before when I have even tryed to get her to eat eggs she would not even try them. I was shock. It is amazing what kids will eat when they see other kids eating. CJ had fun like she always does and I was very tired like I always am. Yesterday we went to the library after school and then went and got the box spring for dad’s bed.
At school today we had the writing part of our State test. For a special education teacher the days of the state test are always the longest days and the most exhausting. You are reading the test and on your feet all days. You just do not sit down. Today I did not even get a lunch because my kids took so long with the test and then I had to take them to lunch at a different time. After school I had told CJ that we could make rainbow cupcake for her to take to school for St. Patrick’s Day. We had a lot of fun putting all the colors together and making the clouds on top and then putting candy shamrocks on. It was a good end to a rough day.
CJ is not happy about the day light saving time. She told me on Sunday that I was putting her to bed to early because the sun was still out. She has black out shades on her windows but she had to pull them aside to show me that it was still sunny out. I told her that it was after 7, which is after her bed time and that the sun is just staying up longer. She told me that I was just trying to put her to bed to early. I told her that if she got up in the morning with out a problem that I would not put her to bed so early. So Monday morning when she would not get out of bed for school I just told her that I told her so and that she still need to go to bed at 7 if the sun is up or not.
