CJ and I were supposed to go to the Beach on Tuesday and Wednesday and see my friend Jen. But Jen ended up last minute having to work so we were not able to go. I was so sad and disappointed. CJ did not understand why we were not going to the beach. It just sucked all around. After moping for 2 days Jay said that CJ and I still should go to something for a mother daughter getaway before school starts. Since I had said last year that I wanted to make it an annual thing, but the beach was to far and to costly. So Jay said that we have a daughter that is obsessed with Castle and we have a real America castle only an hour and a half away. The Vanderbilt home is in Asheville, NC and it would only take ¼ of a tank of gas to get there. I ended up finding a room right at the Biltmore Inn the price was high but not as bad as it could have been. So on Wednesday CJ and I got up early and drove up to Asheville. It was not a bad drive and we were up there early. We checked into our room and caught the bus to the main house. CJ dressed in her finest dresses for the weekend and wore her tiara. She was the princess going to see the castle. Everyone treated her like the princess. CJ loved the gardens and the ice cream. She was not really into the house which I could understand. She did love how big it was. The first day we saw the main house, gardens, went to pet the animals, and then back to the room because CJ was very tired from all the walking. After we rested for a while we went swimming and then got ready for dinner. We ate on the balcony of one of the restaurants CJ was looking down below at the hill and asked me if she could roll down the hill. After dinner I took her down to the hill below the balcony and she rolled down the hill in her white formal dress and tiara. We then went back to the room for the night. While we were in the room CJ spilled ketchup on the floor twice staining the carpet and a bottle of lotion fell off the counter and broke all over the floor. It was a very destructive trip because housekeeping was not able to get the ketchup off the floor and in the end the room blow drier broke my camera got wet and stopped working. Jay said that with everyone that we broke they would never want up back for that cheap price again. I said that was why they did not give up turn down service at night and forgot our chocolates. No 5 star services for the messy people. The next day we went back to the gardens but it was really hot so we did not stay as long. CJ wanted a second ice cream so I got her one and then we sent to the farm to pet the animals again. While we were there we went up to the horse barn were we found that they had all kinds of things for kids to do. CJ had a lot of fun until the wind picked up and a bad storm rolled in. Then the rain, lightning and thunder came we thought that it was time to start heading back to the house. CJ was very scared of the storm. On the way home we got hit with hale that did some damage to the truck. Jay just said again that it was a rough trip. Over all we had such a good time and so nice just to get away the two of us.
