This week went by so fast. On Tuesday after the snow had mostly melted Jay took the two kids to Virginia to see his brother Ron. Jay needed to take the trailer to him and he Jay wanted to see his brother before the holidays were over. I stayed home to work on my school work. It had only been the seconded time I have ever been way from CJ. At first it was nice having the house to myself. I could not believe how much I got done. I picked up the house, graded all of my papers, took a hot bath, took down all the holiday decorations, and finished my on line class that I had to do. After that I was bored and so missed my family. I now know why my house was always so clean and I always had time for everything when I was single and had no children. I am glad that I have CJ it was hard with her away.
CJ said that she had a really good time seeing her uncle Ronny, but when she came home she jumped on me and hugged me for a very long time. Thursday we had a play date will CJ’s new friend from girl scouts. I got a long with her mom really good and I hope that we both will be making new friends.
Yesterday we drove Garrett home. He got his drivers license before he came so we had him take his truck home. Jay and Garrett rode in the Garrett’s truck and CJ and I rode in the big truck to Georgia. It was a long ride but Garrett was very good to have his truck home and Jay was just glad that the truck ran really well during the trip. After we got there CJ had fun running around with Garrett’s brother Gavin.
Today we are just going to rest and start the New Year. We are trying to come up with things that will make this a great new year and I am going to really work on not hating South Carolina. We have talked about trying to come up with one weekend a month were we do something as a family: like camping, going to see something we have not seen before. We are also going to start trying to work on the house again: finish CJ’s bathroom, start buying the cabinets for the kitchen. We will have the truck paid off next month so that should help.
