This last two weeks we have not done much. Jay and I both have been very sick. I lost my voice and Jay was running a high fever. CJ has been the only one around the house that was feeling good. On Tuesday CJ has Girl Scouts. We made pins for Thinking Day and started working on our poster. We are doing Mexico for our Thinking Day country so I had mom go to Mexico for me and get me some things to put on the board. The girls had fun working on all of the things for Thinking Day. They dressed as princesses to and gave each other Valentines.
With me losing me voice this week CJ had to do all the nightly reading. I am amazed at how well she is reading and spelling. For the Holidays she got an art set, so she had been writing us notes and cards. She even writes notes to ask us to change the channel on the TV instead of just asking. In the last week we have had countless Valentines cards and notes saying I LOVE YOU.
This week I was listening to Sean Hannity on talk radio in the car and they were talking about the problems in Egypt. The mentioned that the fear of Israel is that leadership that is not favorable of the Jews will enter down and try to start wars with Israel. During part of the talk they said that some of the Muslim extremist would like to kill all the Jews. CJ started to freak out in the car asking why they would want to kill us and are they doing to kill us. So we had to have our first talk about how some people are intolerant of others and just do not understand. We had to talk about prejudice and how important it is that we are tolerant of all people no matter how different they are. At the end you just told me that they are dumb because they do not what to get to know us to find out that we are no different than they are. It is amazing that a 5 year old can figure that out and so many adults can not.
On Thursday Jay and I were talking about our pasts and things in the pasted. CJ chimes in and says, “Oh ya, that was way back in olden times in the 80’s.” It is funny to think that someone thinks the 80’s is olden times. I guess that I am getting old.
