Birthdays and Cookies

In the last two weeks we have not done much, but have birthdays.  Jay took his birthday off from work and drove to Georgia to see Garrett for the day.  CJ wanted to go with but she had school.  Garrett told her that he may come up if she was in her talent show for school. So I talked CJ into doing a baton routine instead of singing for the talent show.  She would be more likely to get in.  On Thursday she had her audition for the show.  There were 28 students that tried out and only 15 were going to make it.  I was share that CJ would not get in because she dropped her baton twice during the audition.  But she made it and on March 26th she will be in the school talent show.  She is such an entertainer and enjoys being on stage.

The day after Jay’s birthday all of CJ’s cookies come in.  300 boxes of cookies is a lot of cookies to sort.  That Sunday we had the Purim carnival at Temple.  The theme this year was the Olympics.  CJ wanted to dress as a competition baton twirler.

At dance this week she got her new costume and in the few minutes of wearing it to show off she throw her baton and it landed on her head and she broke the head banded that went with the costume.  So I am going to have to be on the hunt to find a replacement.

The last two weekends we have been selling cookies at the cookie booths.  At the last one CJ was getting tired at the end and was not as lively with her dancing and singing.  Thursday was my birthday Jay got CJ and I a manicure and pedicure.  He then took part of the day off work to be able to make Shrimp and grits for me.  He also orders a peach/apple pie from Julian, CA for my birthday and oh was that pie as good as I remembered.  Jay’s brother also came down for the weekend and they worked on my trunk and got it all fixed.

Today I could not find my keys to the truck and we were late to Hebrew school.  I went try and find the keys to Jay’s big blue truck and could not find them.  CJ came in the house holding the keys to the truck, so I went out to start it.  I could not figure out how to start the truck.  CJ gets in the truck and tells me she knows how to start it.  She pushed some button and the truck started right up.  I could not believe that my 7 year old could start the truck and I could not figure it out.  I guess that she had watched her dad do it enough times to know all the tricks.  Jay thought that was very funny.  We were late to Hebrew school but at least we made it.
