We are in California
this week. It has been a quiet relaxing
week. We have gone out to eat and done
some shopping. CJ wanted Sketch’s shoes
and would not look at any others. They
have a Sketch’s outlet here, so we went there and found 2 pairs that she
liked. She had grown out of her old
shoes so she really needed a new pair.
We also bought some dresses at another store.
We have taken CJ out to eat at different restaurants to have
food that she has never had before. CJ
has become a very picky eater, so Cathy has had
fun trying to find things that CJ will eat. Cathy
has done an amazing job finding foods CJ will like. At the Indian restaurant the only thing that
CJ would eat was the bread Cathy could not get
her to eat anything else. But CJ was
every good at trying all the different foods.
On Thursday was Cathy ’s
birthday CJ wanted to make her a cake.
She made her a chocolate cake with strawberries. I did all the measuring and putting in the
oven but CJ poured and mixed everything.
I was quite impresses that was she crack the eggs that she did not get
any shells in the bowl.
Friday we took CJ to a friend of Cathy ’s
to ride horses. CJ got to not just sit on
the horse and be led around. She got a
lesson in riding and was able to ride the horse alone in the arena. She did a good job for her first time and was
not scared. The other children that
where there wanted to ride to, so CJ give up the horse so that the other could
ride. After the horse was put away all
the children want swimming. CJ was
having so much fun that night that she did not even what to talk to her dad
when he called.
Saturday, Cathy and I went
and had our hair done. I got mine cut
and a Brazilian Blow out which straightened my hair. Cathy and I
then went to lunch just to two of us. It
was so nice just to have a girl’s lunch with your best friend with out having
to worry about kids. Girl time can be so
great, I miss that.
That night when CJ was doing her reading for the night she
said something that could only come out of a Jewish child’s month. She was reading about the Revolutionary
War. In the book it stated that the British
retreated and the Patriots won the war.
It then stated that in December George
Washington returned home. CJ said that is why we celebrate Christmas because
we won the war and when Washington
returned home that would have been the biggest celebration. I told her that really was not why people
celebrated Christmas but that could be why we celebrate Christmas.
Today Cathy , CJ, and I went
and had our toe nails done and then went to the Hawaiian Festival. It was so nice having my toes done and CJ
loved it. The Hawaiian Festival was
interesting. We loved watching all the dancers
and CJ had fun playing some of the games.
Cathy got a flower for her hair and
Hawaiian shaved ice.
Next week we already have lots more planned. I am so surprised how fast this vacation is
going.
