Back Home

We have been home for two weeks.  It does not feel that long.  I have been working on trying to get CJ’s birthday party stuff together and I think that I am all ready to go.  I went and had CJ's birthday pictures done.  Sears closed all of their portrait studios, so we went to portrait innovations.  They did not have my number blocks that I liked so well, but they did a nice job with the pictures and I was able to get a CD with all the pictures that I did not buy so that I could share them.

We have been going to story time at the library and CJ’s school.  CJ got to meet an author, play with worms, build a wooden car, and received a medal for reading 10 books.  CJ has not really wanted to read this summer so it has been a chore to get her to do her 20 minutes of reading a day.  I so hope that seen she fines the love of reading.

Last weekend we went camping at Croft state park.  We were there once before.  Even though it rained most of the weekend we had a good time.  Jay had to judge a BBQ competition for the Peach festival, so we went with him.  We got to see a parade, listen to music, eat, and do some activities.  CJ wanted all kinds of crafts from the craft show.   She did take her own money and get herself a paper fan.  Jay and I relaxed most of the weekend.  We did take CJ canoeing.  We rented a canoe and went out on the like.  CJ had fun trying to paddle the canoe.  She kept wanting to go back to the dock so we were not sure if she liked it.  But when we got back she said that she had a lot of fun and wanted to do it again.

This weekend CJ and I are going to Girl Scout camp.
