3 weeks of fun

We have done so much in the last 3 weeks to end the summer.  I think that these last weeks have helps to make the summer better.  We had CJ’s birthday party.  I think that it went well but I should have ended the party at 10:00 and not had a sleep over.  CJ was so excited about all the girls coming over for her party.  They started to around 4.  They played in CJ’s minnie pool.  Jay and I had spent hours trying to fill water balloons.  It was amazing that it only took them 2 minutes to destroy all of them.  We had a water balloon toss and fight, pour water into a cup, and scoop the ice cubes out of the pool with a spoon activates.  The girls had so much fun and there was no fighting or girls complaining that they were hit with a balloon of someone poured water on them.

After we finished with water activities the girls changed into their pajamas and we had pizza.  CJ wanted high heel cupcakes for her party, so we made cupcakes.  We then did facials and painted nails.  After all of that they cleaned up and got ready for bed.  We then watched An American Girl: Isabelle shoots for the stars.  I had a candy bar for them and popcorn.  I would be sweeping up popcorn for days after the party.  After the movie we had lights out.  No one would sleep.  They talked and goofed around.  That would not be so bad but everyone was complaining about everyone else not being quiet and sleeping.  I kept having to come downstairs and separating them.  The next morning we had pancakes and turkey bacon for breakfast.  I was surprised how well all the child liked the turkey bacon. They all ate so well that I ran out of food.  Clean up after they all left was something.  They also left so much stuff here.

The weekend after CJ’s party we went as a family to Savanna, GA.  Bought this trip and had to do this Time Share presentation, but it was not bad.  We ended up having a really great time.  We got these early and were able to check into the hotel.  We then went to River Street and watched the boats.  The town was amazing and I loved looking at all the old buildings and parks.  We ate dinner at this place that we could sit on the porch and watch the boats and people.  I man below us was playing the saxophone on the street.  I was so amazing.

The next day I wanted to do a bus or carriage tour but they were so expensive that I could not afford it, so we did a walking tour (which would turn out to be better).  We went to Julie Low’s birth Place, the first Girl Scout headquarters, and Andrew Low’s house.  All the tours were really neat and we learned some new things about the first girl scouts.

We then had to go to the time share thing which was not bad and did not take up to much time.  We just kept saying “no”.  After we came out we decide to go see the synagogue.  It is said to be the 3rd oldest in the U.S., but we forgot our map so we want to the visitor center to get another one.  When we came out this lady came up to us and gave us 3 tickets to the bus tour for Sunday.  I was so excited and could not believe we would be able to go on the bus tour for free.  Because of that we decided to just let CJ play in the water and go see the temple in the morning.  CJ had fun playing and when we went swimming she taught herself how to swim.  I was so excited.  She has not learned to swim even after swim lessons so this was just amazing.  I was so proud of her. We went to dinner at this place that was said to be hunted, but we did not see any ghosts.

The next day we went on the bus tour.  It was so fast but we did learn about movies that were filmed in Savannah and some interesting history.  We really could not take pictures or see much because they drove by everything so fast.  We got off the bus at one point and went to see the temple.  It was very beautiful.  When we left Savannah we were going to go the Jekyll Island but it was suppose to rain and we were all very tied from 3 days of walking, so we just came on home.  Savannah was great and we have the best family vacation.

The next weekend we went camping. It was suppose to rain all week end but did not.  It stopped raining right as we got to the camp site.  We sent up and had dinner (hotdogs, good camp food).  Jay and CJ then went fishing.  The next day we went to another park and Jay went fishing and CJ and I went hiking.  CJ played some in the water.  When we got back to the camp site CJ played in the water and built a sand castle.  That night it rained so hard, but we were inside and had no leaks in the camper which was good.  The next day we just decided to pack up early and head home, another great weekend.

This week I started back to work and was so busy.  It is going to be a crazy year.  While I was at work CJ want to Art camp.  Art camp was the best money that I spent.  CJ loved it so much when I went to pick her up everyday at 5 she did not want to leave.  She did not complain about anything and just talked my ear off about all the things that they did and how much she loved it.  Jay and I are thinking that we may need to get CJ a pottery wheel.
Saturday we went to our American girl doll club meeting.  They introduced Rebecca.  We went with Nica and her girls.  Rory the little girl that lived with her for a while and we took her to Hebrew school was with them.  We had not seen her in a while so CJ had a lot of fun playing with Rory and going to lunch with them.  School starts on Monday and CJ will be an official 4th grader.  It is just amazing how fast she is growing up.
