April was another busy month. CJ had her Spring sing at school. She loves singing and being in Palmetto
singers and recorder choir. She tried out for the talent show and a solo parts
in the all county school spring sing, she got into both. I think that she is more excited about her
Solo in the spring sing.
On the three Saturday, we had the
American Girl Doll Club meeting. CJ got
a little gift for coming to over 10 meetings.
It was a little bag that said American Girl Doll Club. After the meeting we came home and after Jay
got home from his BBQ contest we all went to see the Battle of Anderson. Jay and I were disappointed with the
event. We thought that it would be
bigger and more. CJ enjoyed watching the
reenactment of the battle. I tried to
get her to put on pants to go because it was in a big field and raining. She did not want to and was upset when her
legs got all bit up by bugs and scraped by weeds. I told her next time it may be a good idea
to listen to me. Jay and I said that it
was good that we went to the reenactment but that we would not go again. It was every pricey for being so small.
During girl scouts for Earth Day we
went out to Lake Hartwell and cleaned the lake shore. I could not believe how much garbage we
picked up in such a short time. As we
were getting ready to work a boater came by and asked if we were cleaning up
the lake and we told him yes. He then thanks us because the lake was so
bad. I think that showed the girls how
important taking care of our environment is.
CJ had her spring fling at school; she
ran around with her friends and had a good time. She was mad at me because we ran out of time
for her to get a snow cone. But she
wanted to play and we did not have time when she was ready for a snow
cone. After the Spring Fling, we meet
Jay to go walking it was funny how mad she was so she walked fast ahead of
us. Jay just told me to let her walk it
off it was good for her.
At Hebrew school, CJ’s class this
year was learning about the life cycle. The
children put on a mock wedding. CJ was
excited about it but I think that she was glad that she was only a bride’s
maid. They also had the Israeli
independence and had fun making cakes that were the map of Israel.
Last Saturday we went to Biltmore so
that I could see the flowers in bloom and we could go for a hike and
picnic. We took a friend of CJ’s with
us. The girls had so much fun taking
pictures of every tree and wanting their picture taken with every flower. When we got back there were over 400 pictures
that the girls had taken. They both had
a good time and did not complain too much about all the walking they had to
do. Claire wanted to tour the house but
it was really busy so we told her that we could bring her back another day and
go through the house. CJ liked having a
friend with her to share and be a tour guide.
After Biltmore we went to Uncle Tom’s and had dinner. Jay made a low country boil and the girls had
fun playing by the water.
This Saturday we went for another
hike and picnic. This time we went to
Paris Mountain. We just went as a family
and had a very nice peaceful day. The
hike was beautiful. Jay made carne asana
on the grill while CJ and I walked another short trail. CJ I think wanted lots
of attention She was full of hugs and wanted to be in the middle of Jay and I
touching both of us. She is just so
cute.
