The week before CJ want to Girl Scout camp we spent most of
the week doing our typical stuff: Chiropractor, Family Reading, Library, and
working out. We also want shopping for
all the little extra things that CJ would need for camp: soaps, flashlight, bug
spray, twin sheets for the bed (Because she did not what to just sleep in the
sleeping bag), etc.
The Family Reading CJ got to build a car. She did not want to put the stickers on
because she wanted to come home and paint it for her My little Pony’s and not
put the stickers on that were from the movie Turbo. This summer CJ has been really into painting.
Clay work, and building things.
At the Library CJ got her medal for reading for 10 hours
this summer. The theme was mustaches,
which is very popular these days. CJ was
happy listening to the stories and playing the mustache bingo game, but she did
not want to make a mustache to wear and take home. So we left early and want to the farmers
market.
We have been going to the Farmers Market every Thursday this
summer and I have really enjoyed getting the fresh vegetable that I have been
getting there.
On Friday we went to temple and Mrs. Margy had a wonderful
gift for CJ. She had made CJ an Owl bean
bag and gave her a shirt. CJ love the
bean bag that Mrs. Margy had made for her she would not put it down and kept telling
me how much she loved it. CJ had the
kindest heart and Mrs. Margy was so happy that CJ love the gifts. CJ was not so happy going to Temple because it
was a Lay service so they did not sing the prayers they just said them but CJ
loves singing her prayers and knows them better when she can sing.
Saturday we went to the Peach festival with Jay. He was doing calculations for judging the BBQ
competition so we had to stay late. CJ
did not mind even if it was really hot.
They had carnival rides so CJ was very happy. I got her a wrist band so she could ride as
many times as she wanted until we had to leave.
She loved the ride called, Scat.
This ride had you spin around until you were plastered again the wall by
centrifugal force. She did not want to
get off the ride and probably rode it 10 times.
She then made friends on the ride and got off to try other rides. I had so much fun watching her and looking at
the vendors. I spent too much money, but
CJ and I saw this backpack that could be monogrammed with her name on it. It was Blue and CJ fell in love with it. She needed a new backpack for this school
year and it was so cute with her name monogrammed so I got it.
Sunday we took CJ to Girl Scout camp. On the way to camp I asked CJ what we are going
to do without you. CJ said, "You could go to the movies and see Jurassic
Park, because I do not want to see that movie." She is funny and has good
ideas. We never did go to see a movie.
When we got there we set up her bunk and I seat with her for a bit. By the time I had left she had already made
friends and was very happy about being at camp.
The week she was gone went by very fast this year. I worked on making American Girl Doll outfits
for CJ’s birthday presents, went birthday shopping, and made a lot of doctors’ appointments.
On Friday when I picked her up from camp she was happy to see me because she said
she missed me so much but she was having such a good time at camp and not ready
to leave. We got in the car and all the
way home she told me about all the things that she did had camp. I had to coach her a little to tell me about
all the things that they did besides being in the Art Center. I am just so glad to have her home.
Today we are going to Clean house and get ready for Montse
and Ellie to get here this evening.
