My first week back to work was without students. CJ went to art camp for a second week and
live always love it. I worked on my
classroom and get it already, there was going to be many changes both with the
schedule and political expectations for us.
It was fun seeing everyone after by summer’s end I had lost a total of
44 pounds and had to get new close to start work.
That weekend CJ went to her American Girl Doll club meeting
and get ready for her first day of 5th grade. I was very sad because this was going to be
her last year in Elementary School. I
had planned that this year CJ was going to learn more independence at school
and I was not going to check behind her as much. I was worried that her grades
would full but she is such a great kid that she picked up the independence and
has been keeping up with all of their school work. We decided not to send her back to Whitefield
after school program because of all the troubles that we had last year. CJ was going to join the afterschool program
called Goal Post, but it did not start until after the first month of
school. I asked CJ’s good friend Claire
if her mom could pick CJ up. She was
willing to help and CJ and I were so happy.
CJ really enjoys going over to Claire’s and playing. Claire is turning into such a nice young lady
and CJ just loves spending time with her.
A couple of time a week Claire and her mom even come walking with us. CJ always tries to run ahead of us so that we
do not hear her conversation. Most of
the time, if you do get close they are playing some pretend game like “Once
upon a Time” or Mermaids.
The first week of school with students was a tough one. The students had a lot of needs, all the IEP’s
were incorrect and needed to be changed, as well as my schedule being crazy. Nothing seemed to be working out with my
start of the school year. CJ on the
other hand loved her new schedule and doing very well. She was able to join some after school activates
like running club, technology club, Beta Club, Palmetto Singers, and student council.
The first weekend after school started we went camping with
Claire’s family. It was so much fun and
we all needed it. They have a boat so we
went tubing and cliff diving. CJ and I
were to chicken to drive off the cliff.
Claire’s parents are younger than Jay and I, it was fun trying o keep up
with them and doing things that I have not done in years. It made me feel so young. I cannot wait to go camping with them
again. It was such a good time.
