Last Days of Summer

The next day after Savannah we spent the whole day at the beach.  The girls played and played.  Jay went shopping while we were at the beach.  While he was shopping he found boogie boards at Goodwill for really cheap and bought them for the girls. They had so much fun playing on them.
Tuesday Jay, CJ, and I went for a ride to check out a camp ground (Huntington Island State Park).  The park had a light house on it but it did not seem as nice as Huntington Beach State Park; though we may try to camp there one day.  After we got back we sent right to the beach to play. The girls played until sunset.

Wednesday we had to pack up and head back.  We were all sad to leave the beach. Thursday we stayed home so Montse could get some work done and I could get all the laundry done from our trip.

Friday, Montse and I decided to surprise the girls with a trip to Charlotte. We told them that we had a doctor’s appointment and then took them to Discovery Place.  Discovery Play is a children’s museum that CJ went to for a school field trip.  She had been begging me to go to it.  The screams of excitement were only rivaled by when they found out that we were going to American Girl Store for dinner, which Ellie and CJ had been begging to go to. It was a long busy day but the smiles and happiness was so worth it. Sorry.  CJ and Ellie got to see an IMAX movie.  It was on the unseen world.  I thought some of the things that they showed were kind of gross.  So did Ellie she really did not like to think about the bugs on her eyes that you cannot see unless you have a super powerful micro scope. At the American girl store the girls had fun running around and playing.  CJ got a new book and stuffed cat.  Montse really liked Charlotte.  It was a pretty city.

On Ellie and Montse’s last day I took them to downtown Greenville to Falls Park.  The girls had more fun playing on the rocks of the Reedy River then playing at the splash pad.  We had lunch in the park and then stopped for ice cream on the way out.  Monday Morning was a sad goodbye.  I took Montse and Ellie to the airport and then I was off to work to get ready to start a new school year.  Little did I know at the time that it was going to be a rough rode a head.
