A week after Thanksgiving Hanukkah started. On the first night of Hanukkah CJ and I went
to downtown Greenville for the community Menorah lighting. We did that for the first time last year and
had a really good time. CJ really loved
the magic show this year and spent most of her time watching the performer. While CJ was watching the show I got us both
latkes and donuts. I know that CJ does
not really like latkes or donuts but I thought that she would be hungry. While she never came back to the seats
because she was having too much with her friends and I got hungry. So I ate the latkes and donuts that I
got. When she finely came back to the
seat she wanted her latke, she was very upset that I eat it. She wanted me to go back and get her more but
they were out. I told her that we will
be meeting daddy for dinner and I was sorry about eating her latke but normally
she will not eat them anyway. She did
have cotton candy and gelt.
CJ got mostly clothes for Hanukkah so that she could have
new outfits for school. She got a fuzzy
vest that she really wanted. She told me
that was the fashion and everyone had one, so I had to get her the vest. She wanted to wear it every day, but her dad
told her that it was a once a week thing.
CJ has been taking Piano lessons since September she really
likes them and I did not have to remind her to much to practice. Sometimes she will just get up and practice
on her own, but other time I have to reminder her. As much as she loves to sing, the lessons
have been good because she is learning to play songs that she can sing to. We have a small keyboard and her teacher said
that if CJ is going to continue with piano she really should have an 88 key
keyboard with weighted keys. Jay and I
looked everywhere for one that was under $100.
Big keyboards and pricey and we could not find one. CJ had been learning 2 songs to play at our
Hanukkah party and I really wanted to get her a new keyboard for Hanukkah. Finely, Jay and I gave up on trying to find a
cheap one. He found a new one on sale
for about $200 more than we wanted to spend but it would work and it was
nice. So on the third night of Hanukkah
after lighting the candles we told CJ she was just to go off to bed that there
was not present tonight. She was very disappointed
but did not argue with us. Then we told
her that she had to go practice piano before she want to bed. She walked into her playroom and was so
excited to see her new piano. She wanted
to play and play. The next morning, even
before breakfast she went straight to her playroom and started to play on her
piano. I am so glad that we get her the piano she. I really hope that she continue to play for a
long time.
On Thursday she had cookies with Santa at her school. This
will be the last time that she will have cookies with Santa at school because they
do not do things like that at Middle School.
Friday we went to dinner at Temple. The night before CJ got a new dress so she wore
it to school because right after school they had a school dance. CJ said that she danced and had a great time
with her friends. I had given her money
to get into the dance. CJ told me that
Goal Post kids all get into the dance for free, so her was able to take her
money and buy a drink. I asked her want
drink she got and she told me a Mountain Dew.
I asked if she really drank it.
She told me that she did and that explained why she was so hyper. At the dinner she played dreidel with her
friends and run around the gym.
Saturday we got up early and I started to bake for our party
that night. We had 4 people cancel on us
but I was ok with that because with the 3 of us we were going to be having 17
people for dinner. I spent all day
getting ready. I think that everyone had
a really good time at the party and the food turned out well. The only thing that did not was the
Hallah. I just cannot get that right; One
of these days. CJ played her two songs and sounded like a professional. I was very impressed with how calm she was
with all the people and how well she played and sung.
Sunday night would be the last night of Hanukkah and at
Hebrew school they had the big Hanukkah party.
On the last night CJ got a new carrying case for her American girl doll.
