Tonight the 4th and 5th grades did the family
service, CJ did not need a mic you could hear her over the Rabbi. She was
singing her heart out. I really did not know she know her prays so well. You
would think that she was practicing to be a cantor someday the way she was
leading service. At one point Rabbi forgot to say the blessing when putting the
Torah away. CJ told Rabbi that he forgot
and Rabbi said that CJ know the service so well. I asked her if she thought about being a
Rabbi someday and she told me maybe a Cantor.
Being in Choir I think has really helped her learn all of her prayers
and let her see that prayers can be sung in different ways.
CJ performed in the school talent show. They
had some technical errors that really through CJ off. The mic kept falling over and was not
positioned right for CJ sitting at the piano.
She had to stand up to reach the microphone, which through her off and
she made a mistake in playing and singing and had to start over, but she
persevered! At the Chiropractors office CJ has made friends with her message
therapist. We have had her over to the
house for dinner and she has helped me with CJ’s birthday parties. She is a great role model for CJ and CJ just
loves her to death. She even took the time to come see CJ perform at the Talent
Show. It meant so much to me that she
was able to come.
My sister and mom were talking about the
Mexican food in Yuma. I got a craving for Mexican, so we decided to try a new place;
we are still looking for a good Mexican restaurant. When we walked in it was
Karaoke night. We decided to stay anyway. CJ was excited and wanted to get up
and sing, so we let her. The food was typical bad Southern Mexican food, but
CJ's singing made it worth putting up with the bad food. We joked about going to Jose Karaoke and if
we ever go back we will have to pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because
we cannot eat the food there. CJ had
know started asking if we can go back so that she can sing more.
CJ
and Jay went fishing up in the foothills on the Chattooga River. They did not catch
anything, but they had taken a little cook stove and had lunch together, a pot
of chicken noodle by the shore. And Jay heard the most unexpected 3 words out
of CJ's mouth, "More carrots please?" He was stunned, because CJ DOES
NOT eat vegetables. The soup must not
have been enough for the two of them because on the way home they stopped by
KFC and got some chicken as well.
This year I had a really birthday. CJ had so much fun telling everyone that I
was only 11 and I had fun with my students giving them math lessons’ using
multiplies of 4. I wanted Salmon for dinner
and to go to a nice restaurant. My
birthday was on a Monday and everything around here is closed on a Monday. So we went to TGIF for dinner. They made me a Jack Daniel’s Salmon dinner. Jay and
CJ got me a new camera so that I stop taking such blurry pictures and CJ could
have hers back and a cooking light cookbook. One of the really neat things that
happened was that one of my old students came by my class to wish me a happy
birthday. She is in high school and remembered by birthday. She brought me a cupcake. It made me cry. Jay and CJ spoiled me, I
could not ask for a nicer day. Birthday see you again in 2020.
