October

October started with the High Holidays.  CJ did not what to take both days off school.  So we only took Rosh Hashanna off.  CJ was afraid that she would get to behind being in the GT classes.  CJ has been in the Temple Choir and very much enjoying it.  She was given a solo to sing for the High Holidays.  She was not nervous and was very excited about being able to sing for everyone.  Her voice is just becoming amazing.  I could not have been a prouder mamma.  She did a great job in front of anyone.
CJ got invited by one of her new friends to go to a church lock in.  I was very nervous about it and asked a million questions before a argued to let me go.  I figured that Milly's mom is also a teacher at our school and will take good care of CJ.  CJ had so much fun.  Jay and I went out on a date.  We went to dinner at a restaurant in Anderson that I wanted to try.  The appetizer was were good but the main course was not.  When we got home CJ called us and was telling us all about the games that she was playing and how much fun she was having. When I came to get her at 8:00 in the morning she was so tired that she could not even talk.  She just stared at me.  I brought her home and she went right to bed.

I wanted to take CJ to the apple orchard and had made arrangements to go with Brittney and her family before CJ got invited to the lock in.  So I had to wake CJ up at around 1:00 so that we could get up to the orchard by 2:00.  She was OK with getting up after she got moving a little and she was just happy to get to see and spend some time with Claire.  We did not get a lot of apples.  The place was so busy that we did not even get to go on a hay ride.  They were able to walk the orchard and climb some trees to get apples.  I told CJ that I did not what to get a lot of apples, but if I would have known that I was going to make an apple pie that everyone loved so much I would have had her get more apples.

For Sim Ha Torah and Sukkot I said that I could make a pancake breakfast for the student and their families at the Temple.  The breakfast turned out well and with all the help that I had in was not a problem at all.  We did have so many pancake left over that CJ would eat pancakes for the next couple of weeks.

CJ came home from school one day and started to complain that she had a sore throat.   CJ never gets sick so I was not sure that to do.  I should have known that when CJ does get sick she does it big. She woke up at 2:30 in the morning running a fever of 103. When I told her I did not think that she would be going to school, she told me to please email her teachers and get all her assignments so she could work on them at home so she does not get behind. This year she so hates missing school.  In the morning I took her to the doctor.  She evened up having Strep.  The doctor told me that I could have to take pills for 10 days and she could not go back to school for 24 hours or I could have her take a shot and she could go back to school tomorrow.  We both thought the shot was best because she hate pills and hates missing school.

October ended with Halloween celebrations.  Being in Middle School there was no fall festival at school.  It was almost sad not to be going to Palmetto for the fall festival.  She was invited to a Middle School Halloween party at a friends house.  Most of the kids at the party were 8th graders but CJ's new friend Milly was there and they hung out all night together. Before the party we run over to Boo in the Party in hopes that CJ would run into some of her old friends from Palmetto. She was happy to see a couple of old friends.

I told CJ that we would not stay the whole time at the Middle School party because the party went until 10:00.  I told her that we could stay until 9:00.  At a 9:00 CJ came up to me and said that she was tired and ready to go home. Those she did have a lot of fun and her friend Milly was not happy that she was leaving.

CJ still wanted to go trick or treating.  We tried to talk her out of it saying that she was to old but Claire invited her to go with them trick or treating.  So off we went.  At school, she could dress up but her costume had to follow dress code.  She dressed as a princess, I wish that I could have been able to get a picture of it because she looked so pretty.  In the evening she dressed as BB8.  She loves Star Wars and BB8 is her favorite character.
