We started back to school and nothing had really changed it was just a busy time getting back into the swing of things. The week after we went back to school on the weekend we got some snow. The weather man was predicting that we were going to get a lot of snow and CJ was so happy. She loves snow, but we did not get much. Greenville and the mountains got more then we did and Hebrew School and Choir were cancelled. We did not get enough to even cover the grass but CJ wanted to go sledding so Jay took her up to the High school and they went sledding of a minute because all the snow melted. On Monday some of my students were very upset because we did not get enough snow to have a snow day or even a 2 hour delay. Greenville schools on the other hand missed 2 days, so CJ was very jealous of her friends at temple that had snow days. I am glad that we did not have snow days because at least we do not have to make up any days at the end of the school year.
CJ loves the Andy Griffith Show, she has watched every episode. We do not mind because it is a good clean show and not what is on TV these days. Jay and CJ were up stairs cleaned one day and Jay had Alan Jackson bluegrass CD playing in the background. The song "There Is A Time" starts playing and CJ walks into the room and says "Hey, that's the song the Darlings sing on Andy Griffith". A huge smile come upon his face and I hugged her and told her how proud was. He pointed out that she is just might be the only 11 year old girl in 2017 that would know that.
On the 3rd Saturday of the month, CJ had her American Girl Club meeting. She noticed that she is getting to be older than all the other kids, but she loves going to the meetings and participating. We talk to the directed and asked if there was anything that CJ could do that could help with American Girl Club. That way she could continue to come but move into being a helper. She was happy to give her an assignment and told her that she would give her BETA Club hours for helping out. This really made CJ feel better and CJ went home and started working on the projects for the next meeting.
CJ's piano teacher is having a baby and is not doing well with her pregnancy. She had to go on bed rest so we go out to her house in Greenville. We leave Hebrew school and go right to her house which works out very well. One night coming home from lessons a piece of wood flew into my car window. It hit on CJ's side of the car and was very scary. We pulled over and waited for the police to get their to write the report. I was so glad that it did not come through the window. It took a week or so before they were able to come out to work and fix my car. I was glad to see the window fixed because every time we got in to car CJ would be all worried. I was just upset.
The month continued on. I was in class listening to announcement and heard CJ's name called for Student of the week. I was so proud of her and she loved seeing her name on the marquee. It took Jay a couple of weeks before he was able to stop and get a picture for CJ.
A week late CJ got her report card and had made Prinicpal's academic list for the 2nd quarter. I was so proud of her. I know that being in the GT classes are very hard for her and I did not expect her to continue to receive such great grades. She held a 4.65 GPA all "A's". Great way to end the month.
