November just seemed to fly by. I am not sure why since we were home the whole time and did not do much. Work for me has not been fun, the kids are out of control, and after our special education coordinator stated that if I was not happy maybe it was time for me to go, I decided that was my cue to start looking for a new job. I worked on getting my resume updated and look at the job opening in other districts close to me. My work had an elearning week the first week in November. Students had to stay home and we taught virtually. The kids did not complete their work.
CJ had Monday and Tuesday off for elections but she had in-person school which she was very happy about. On her day off she decided to paint a picture. Our cats find great amusement in dropping stuff in the toilet. Quite frequently we come home to find their toys or hair ties and such at the bottom of the bowl. We try to remember to put the lid down,, but sometimes we forget. So, CJ made us a painting to help us remember to put the lid down. I smile every time I look at it, especially the two cats peeking over the rim. Thought I'd share.
She did hope that Milly had Monday off so that they could spend time together but she did not so I told them that I would take them to the C&C arcade and ice cream parlor on the weekend. CJ was so happy just to get to spend an hour with Milly. The arcade was filled with old arcade games from the '80s. CJ was so happy it was games that were all from the "Stranger Things" show. CJ wanted to eat normal ice cream so I let her even though her blood sugar went crazy high and she had to give herself a correction unit.
November is Diabetes awareness month so CJ had fun making videos the first part of the Month. She got bored with it and did not finish the last part of the month.
We finally got the bikes out because it was a nice evening and went to dinner. Jay was so happy to be on a nice short ride with CJ. Jay taught CJ how important it is to always carry a pocket knife. She was having trouble cutting her pork chop at dinner so he handed her his pocket knife and then she had no problems. I told him that she can not always carry a pocket knife because she is growing up in a different generation than us. A pocket knife at her age can be considered a weapon and she could get in big trouble. I miss the days when everyone could carry a pocket knife. She can use them for everythign.
On Saturday, November 14th Jay was judging another BBQ contest so CJ and I went and attended the largest craft fair I had ever been to. It was really neat and CJ and I had a great time looking at all the stuff. We found some really cool Christmas presents for Milly and CJ. While CJ and I were at the fair we were talking and I told her that if she really wanted to try out for the "Americas got Talent" show I would support her. So she looked up how to apply and this year they were doing online auditions. So she filled out everything and got an audition time. Sunday she was so nervous all day about the audition. But at the time she got on and did an amazing job. She song "House of the Rising Sun" and did not miss a note. I was so proud of her. They told her that if she did not hear from them she did not get in. She never heard from them. I told her that it could be that they had too many kid singers, did not what a guitar player, or did not what another kid from South Carolina. That it had nothing to do with her singing that was perfect. We know how disappointing it was but we told her not to give up.
