New Year's day was quiet around the house. Jay and I walk up and went to breakfast just the two of us because CJ was at Millie's. Jay then went to the Jockey lot and I came home. I made cabbage rolls for dinner and in the evening we watched movies together.
Sunday CJ and I started our routine of going to the gym. We had an appointment with the Journey coach, to help us set up work our plan. I hate working out but knowing that I was going to have fun with CJ, it was worth it. As the week went on she would continue to push me to work out.
Monday CJ and I had to head back to work and school. Jay thought that he had work but when he got there, there was no one there so he came home. That morning it was raining so hard and the wind was blowing. I headed to work and I saw a car in the ditch, so I slowed way down. The next thing that I know there is a tree over top of me. I did not see the tree. It must have been down before I got there but I did not see it. It was just there over top of my car. I had to call into work to tell them I was going to be late because the tree had damaged my car. I called 911 and sat waiting for the sheriff. Jay come out help and sit with me. Another guy and Jay cut down the tree and got it out of the road. When the sheriff got there he told me that it would be best if I just have Jay fix my mirror and not have him write a report because it will devalue my car. What a crazy way to start the first Monday of the New year.
CJ and I went to the gym again on Monday but Tuesday she was not feeling good so I told her that we should not go and she could study for her finals. Jay and I just went for a walk together. CJ was so cute because that evening she still worked and as Jay and I walked she wanted to meet us at the fence so she could say hi. Wednesday, I had another appointment with the health coach and I was worried about CJ because yesterday she was so not feeling well, but she wanted to go to the gym and she said she was feeling better. So we went and had another good appointment. Jay on the other had started feeling really bad and Thursday stayed home from work. We tried to get him an appointment for a COVID test but everywhere was all booked up. The soonest that I could get him an appointment was Sunday. I made one for CJ as well even though she was feeling better. Friday and Saturday we just stayed home and rested. Jay did not even go to the Jockey Lot. So I knew that he was very sick. I went grocery shopping with CJ. On Sunday I woke up with a fever, headache, and body aches. I just laid around the house. Because CJ was feeling better I canceled her COVID test which was a mistake. At noon Jay went to Walgreens for his COVID test and it was positive. So I had to figure out what to do and get CJ and me a COVID test. I was not able to get one that day but found one for Monday for me and CJ. I could not get a test local. CJ's test was in Clemson and mine was in Simpsonville. Since CJ's test was not until late I sent her to school. Which was another mistake. Because at 9:00 CVS called me and asked if I could bring CJ in for her test early. So I had to call the school and have her come home. She tested Positive as well even though she was feeling better. Then I went for my test and it was also positive. It was a 3 for 3. I was so confused about what to do. For me, it was more clear. I could not come back to work until Friday and then I have to wear a mask. CJ could go back to school right away because it was already 5 days since her first symptoms but she had to wear a mask for 5 days. Jay was to go back on Tuesday with a mask. Though Jay was still short of breath and not feeling well. On Monday I was feeling better than on Sunday; no fever or headache. Though I did have a weight on my chest and my skin started to feel like I had a sunburn (what was weird). CJ was still feeling good she just did not what to go to school wearing a mask.
So the first Monday of the Month I had a tree on my car and the second Monday of the month I get COVID. I think that this year is not starting out well. 2022 has not been good so far.
Since CJ was over COVID for 5 days, school policy made her go back to school but then gave her a hard time for being at school. She did not want to have any unexcused absence so she was upset about them saying anything to them. I had to be out of work for 4 days but could go back to work on Friday. Jay like CJ could go back to work because he had been out for 5 days. The problem was Jay started to get worse. On Tuesday his fever was back and he was so winded that he could barely walk across the room. CJ and I were so worried about him. Wednesday morning he called the doctor and they did an Evisit, by the end of the call she told him to go to urgent care. I took him to Urgent care and his oxygen level was ok but he had COVID pneumonia in his right lung. They gave him an IV and several shots of medication. They would not let me go in with him so I had to wait in the car in the parking lot from 11:00 until 5:00. I hated not being in there knowing if he was ok and just being there for him. This COVID thing with Jay is really scaring CJ and me.
On the third weekend of the month, we did not do anything. Jay was still not feeling well and Saturday he was running another fever and having trouble breathing. So we just stayed home and rested. CJ was supposed to volunteer at the museum but because of the Martin Luther King holiday and the chance of bad weather, they decided to close for the whole weekend. On Sunday we woke up to snow and ice. It snowed all day which never happens in the south. It was cold so the roads never cleared. CJ at first did not what to go out in it because it was so cold but then she could not help herself she went outside to build a snowman.
We then went to the Mall to hang out. We had fun walking around we decided that we were not going to eat at the mall because nothing looked appealing. We sent to Bath and Bodyworks because they were having a sale and that is CJ's favorite place. We spent too much money there but it was fun. We then and I filled up CJ's gas tank because she was the one that drove. We then decided on Culver's for lunch. After lunch, we thought that it would be fun to check out Shane's new Tea shop and get some Boba tea. On our way there CJ set her phone with the directions to the tea shop. At one point Siri was giving CJ directions and said "Ops sorry" and then gave different directions. I have never heard of a GPS saying sorry when they give you the wrong directions. We laughed about that for a long time and kept coming back to that all day.
