February 2022

With the onset of February, the craziness continued. Wednesday I received a text from our principal that we needed to meet her in the gym at 7:15 in the morning before school starts. The last time I had a principal do that, it was 9/11/2001, and we were going to war. So I know that it was not something good. Mrs. Center said that maybe she was going to tell us we got a raise. I told her I did not think so.  This time it was because our Librarian had passed away suddenly. It was the sadist thing. She was just 32 years old and had just had a baby. Mrs. Jordan was so nice to me and helped me out every chance she got. The school was just devastated. That evening I had an appointment to get a filling which just added to the bad day.

CJ had her MedEx interview that night. She was so worried and she had a lot of homework so she was a little stressed out. After the interview, she said that she thought that she did ok but you never know.  She said that they will let her know sometime in March.

CJ has not been happy with being in the play. She said that there is no comradery and people do not even talk to her. She said that she was so stressed out. Students at school were saying things about her weight which was making her upset. She was coming home crying and wanting to quit the play. I listen to her but I was not sure what to tell her. I told her to talk to others that have a lot on their plate and how they handle it. I also had her make a date with Millie for dinner because she always feels better when she sees Millie and she had not seen her since New Year. I also made an appointment for her to see her Therapist. I just hate seeing her so sad I had to do something to help her.

We did not do much over the weekend just clean house. CJ and Millie went to dinner just to two of them. I was right it did make her feel better. The week went on and she did not have any crying Wednesday we went to dinner at the Listers. We talk about if it was a good idea for CJ to quit the play and what tests and programs she should take for getting ready for College. Then we talked about CJ and Millie's Senior trip. We settled on going on a cruise. We just had to decide where and when.

After CJ decides not to quit and just resigns to the fact that the play would not be as fun as last year things get better. She was able to figure out how to complete her homework and do the play.

Since Jay's birthday was on Monday. Garrett come up the for the weekend before. Jay, Garrett, and Megan got to go to a Gun and knife show. Jay wanted to go but I did not what to go with him so this was great that they came up and all had fun going. We ordered pizza and just had a nice lunch with all of us before they went to the show and CJ had to go volunteer for Little Miss Snowshoe Contest. Garrett brought his new car to show us. She had to show off and take CJ for a ride in his sports car but he would not let CJ or Jay drive it.

When she came home from the contest, she told me that she was glad that I had never entered her in a beauty pageant because those moms were crazy and so mean. She said some of the little girls were crying and did not what to go on stage and the moms were making them. She said that the moms were so rude to her as well and she was just trying to direct that to where they needed to be and what they could and could not do.

Monday for Jay's birthday he told me that he want to go out for dinner. I was so surprised because normally he does not what to go to dinner on his birthday because with it being valentines day and restaurants are always busy. He wanted to go to Dolittle's in Anderson because he wanted a nice fish dinner and the last time we were there he loved the fish. Dolittle's is a very nice fancy restaurant, so I called early to make sure that we had good reservations. We had such a nice dinner and Jay loved the earbuds that we got him for his birthday.

Friday CJ and I had the day off from work because it was a PD day for me but I worked a day over the summer I did not have to work. CJ worked a half-day in the morning but we had the afternoon off. On Saturday CJ had to volunteer for American Girl at the museum. She was so happy that there were a bunch of girls at the event. This was the first time since COVID that they have had a lot of girls. It made her so happy to be working with them so many girls again. She said that they had a couple of new volunteers there as well.

For my 50th birthday, I decided that I wanted a birthday party and just have a couple of friends over to laugh, have dinner, and goof around. We were just going to have a low country boil and a few drinks. I was so surprised to see my friend Lori have a pina colada. I never see her drink anything. Lori, Elinor, Linsey, and Beth all came and we did laugh a lot. They talked a lot about Glenview and what was all happening there. I felt a little bad for Linsay because she had no idea who they were talking about, but some of the gossip was good even if you did not know them. I told the girls not to get me anything for my birthday but Beth got me your 50 bracelets and Elinor and Lori got me inspirational posters for my classroom.

On Sunday CJ and I want to Zumba class. We have been enjoying going on Sundays it has been so much fun. We also go for Boba after at my friend from Temples, Shane's new place. CJ loves going there and the Boba is not super sweet like at the other places that we have been. It has been a great way to cool off after class.

I was very worried about work the next day because I was not sure if the ladies would remember. For their birthdays we had done a lot of fun stuff and since I so feel out of the group I was not sure if they would even remember. But they had gotten me biscuits and a gift card. So I was so happy that they did not forget. I know that I say my birthday is no big deal but this was my 50th which seems like a big deal to me. Jay tried to take me out for Vietnamese for dinner but they were closed so we tried a different place and I got Poke instead. Jay liked it because they had more things on the menu that he would eat, so everyone was happy.
