We started off that first of July very busy. We got up and I took CJ to the DMV to try the test again. She passed with no problems this time. Everyone at the DMV was happy that she passed. She was so excited and even loved her DMV picture. We then went out for coffee to celebrate. We came home and had lunch then went to Walmart to get the things that CJ still needed for camp. We had some time before we could get her TB test checked so I took CJ over to Burkes shopping. She found a shirt and a pair of pants that she loved. We then got her TB test checked, came home, and uploaded her test to Medex. We then went to dinner and to the temple. The service was very good and there was an oneg so we had fun talking with people.
The next morning we got up and filled the car. We went to breakfast as a family before driving up to take CJ to camp. We decided to go to Cracker Barrell. Jay was not happy that they served alcohol there but had taken the turkey sausage off the menu. He decided that we were never going back. When we got to camp CJ did not want us to stay. She even told me that I could not use the bathroom before we left and that we just needed to leave. She is never sad to leave for camp it is only I who miss her so much. We left and came home. We decided to go to dinner in Anderson and price out new dishwashers. We are getting tired of washing dishes. On the way home we got caught in the rain it was not bad but I had to laugh because Jay said that he looked at the weather and there was no chance of rain. When we pulled into the garage I thought that I had put my kickstand down but it was not all the way down and the bike tipped over on my leg. My head hit the ground hard and I could not get the bike off of my foot. Jay had to help me get the bike up. I was so embarrassed. I was just glad that it was only Jay and me.
During the week, I went to lunch with my friend Beth and worked on deep cleaning the living room, kitchen, bedroom, hall, and bathroom. The week went by pretty quick without CJ but I still missed her so much and could not wait until Saturday to pick her up. Friday Jay and I went to dinner and this time we took the car which was a good thing because it rained. It had rained all week and poor CJ at camp I am share was tired of the rain.
We got up Saturday and went to breakfast. Then drove up to get CJ. When we picked her up she was telling us about all the bad things that happened from broken arms to counselors getting kicked out for smoking marijuana. She was complaining that the counselors were not so nice to the kids and were cursing in front of the kids. She said that one of the counselors was very inappropriate with her conversation with the kids and some of them seem to be bulling the kids. I told her that as a counselor in training (CIT) she saw things that I am sharing the other kids did not see and the other counselors talk around her about things that I share they did not say in front of the kids. It just seemed that way. CJ did say that she wanted to go back next year and that she did have fun with the girls in her cabin. It took a while for her to get out all of her complaints and then we get to hear about all the fun things that she did.
Sunday CJ went to Choir practice and there were some new girls who had joined. It was nice for CJ to have some other young people there. We then come home and all went to bed early because we all had to work in the morning. CJ started Medex and I had my Orton-Gillingham Class.
My class was so intensive. I learned so much about language and spelling. By the end of the week, my brain hurt with all the information that I had to process. CJ from day one loved Medex. She did not come in telling us about the bad stuff she was so excited about all the things that she learned all week. She found out that her school had really dropped the ball on helping with college information and that other school counselors in the area were so much better at helping the kids out. So she got help from the other students at Medex and started to fill out the information that she needed to apply to college. She was so excited about everything and when she came home every night she would talk about that day's experience. It was so exciting to watch. She had to work every night. Projects to complete blogs to write, so she was up late working which was a good lesson on what doing to college will be like. Her dad loved that she had a Prisma Health employee badge. https://dosscjk.wixsite.com/my-medex-experience
By Friday CJ when I picked CJ up to go to Temple, she was still so excited and could not wait for the next week. Saturday CJ still had to get up a little early so that she could get really for the American Girl Club and volunteer at the museum. We went to All about Fabric first to try and find stuff or school and crafts. CJ got to have lunch with Millie. We had a reflexing night at home watching the last episode of Stranger Things. The next day we got up early again and drove to Georgia to take Garrett out for lunch. We decided to meet Garrett in Millidgeville. Jay did not even know that there was a college there. It had a nursing program but CJ was not interested in even looking at the school. I think that her mind is really made up about going to Lander. We went to Amices for lunch and had a nice visit with Garrett. Then drove home. It is always such a long drive and everyone was tired when we got home. The next week CJ started her 2nd week at Medex and every night she came home excited about all the things that she had done and learned. She was so proud that she was able to imbubate the maniquenne in less then 8 seconds. It was so fun watching her be so happy. Every night she has to come home and work on projects. She is not upset about all the work. The only thing that I have seen her upset a about is still having trouble getting along with some of the other kids when doing group projects because she feels that they are not listening to her ideas. I spent the week having fun going out with all my friends for lunch. Wednesday I went to lunch with Beth and we went to BinTime. It is fun going to BinTime with Beth because she gets so excited there. Thursday I went to lunch with Lindsay and it was fun talking about raising our children. We also went for ice cream at a place that I have wanted to try for a while. On Friday I went to lunch with Kelly. We talked and complained about Palmetto high school.
That weekend we went for a girls weekend with Elinor and the girls. We went school clothes shopping. CJ was so excited that Millie wanted to get a dress and was trying on all kinds of summer dress. CJ had fun finding dresses for Millie. We had fun looking at all the stuff at the outlet. I was surprised that everything at the outlet mall was still so expensive. We then drove to Helen, GA for the rest of the weekend. When we got there the girls wanted to sit in the hotel and cool off for a while. Elinor and I wanted to go do something. So we left the girls and walked downtown to sit, have a drink and watch the tubers going down river. The girls came and joined us and we walked around downtown doing more shopping until we were all so hot and the girls where hungry. Everyone was so tired that we really could not decide where to go to eat. We found a little pizza place to eat. The pizza was good though later that night CJ had problems with her blood sugar from the pizza. After we eat everyone was less grumpy.
When we got back to the hotel we were all tired and I do not remember much because I fell right asleep. The next morning I got up and went downstairs for coffee. I was so proud that I slept in until 6:00. I wish that I would have brought my computer but it was ok. Everyone else came down later and we had breakfast and walked down to the tubing place. We decided to do the 2-hour tubing and not get sticks. We thought we could just take our time. We did not realize the sticks were for when we get stuck on rocks you could push yourself off instead of having to get out of the tube each time. I had so much fun. Falling out of the tube, losing my shoes, and getting stuck on rocks, I did not care it just added to the experience and made me laugh so much. CJ, Millie, and Maggie did not quite feel that same way. They wanted a stick and keep getting upset about getting stuck. I would so go tubing again. The trip was supposed to take us 2 hours but with all the times we got stuck it took us 3. When we got done we all went back to the hotel showered and went to lunch. At lunch, everyone was so tired from the tubing. The food was good, the service was bad, but the company was nice. I so enjoy this mommy-daughter weekend. When CJ and I got home we just decided to sit and relax. Jay was still in Virginia fishing with his brother so we watched girly movies and went to bed early.

Jay came home on Monday. I worked on laundry and CJ went to Medex. This will be her last full week at Medex. I think that she was sad thinking that it was going to be over soon. I spent the rest of the week getting ready for CJ's birthday party. Trying to make sure that we had everything. On Thursday CJ asked if I would make cupcakes or buy cupcakes for all her friends at Medex. That is 48 cupcakes. I told CJ that I would make them because it was cheaper. I made her cupcakes then the next day I had to make 48 more cupcakes for temple and her party.
On Friday CJ took the cupcakes to Medex. She said that she had a fun day and everyone was wishing her a happy birthday. When she went to lunch she got a cookie and the cashier could not find the price of the cookie in her system so she just told CJ happy birthday and give her the cookie for free. The funny thing was the cashier did not know that it was really CJ's birthday. So she told her and they both laughed.
I have never spent all day without CJ on her birthday. We always spend the whole day together so it was hard to not have her with me all day. I was glad to have so much to do with cleaning the house and making cupcakes. That evening I packed all the cupcakes, cookies, and other treats for the temples Oneg in the car, and Jay and I rode out to get CJ for dinner. While we were waiting for CJ to get done Roger called me to tell me that Services got canceled. I was upset because I had all these cupcakes, cakes, and cheesecake balls in the car that I had spent the whole day making and all the money that I had spent. But it was going to be ok. I would figure out a way to get rid of all the cupcakes. We decided that since services were canceled we would go somewhere else for dinner. CJ wanted to go for Pho at the restaurant in Easley. So we went there and had a nice dinner. I gave her the card that I had made showing all the plays that she was going to get to go see. I had to tell her that I had gotten her season tickets to the Peace center. She could not believe it and loved it.
