Could not believe how fast February can. CJ was supposed to sing a the Friday night services but Rabbi and one other choir member got COVID so they canceled the Choir singing. So we just had a night family night. On Saturday CJ got up and cleaned the house. Jay went to the Jockey lot and I just relaxed at home. That evening CJ went to Mr. Palmetto's show because she was asked to sing during the show. I went to the show to see her. I could not believe how silly those boys there pretending that they were in a beauty contest. CJ did a great job singing. Jay kept giving her a hard time about her outfit. He wanted her more covered up. Such a dad.
On Sunday CJ went and taught at Hebrew school. Choir was canceled because of the scare of others getting sick. CJ went out with Connor for the evening on their Sunday date. They went to dinner and then hung out watching the stars at the school football field.
The next week went really fast. CJ was going to go out with Connor on Monday because she had a Regional choir on Thursday which is their normal date night. He did not tell her that he had found out that he was leaving for Portland on Sunday and wanted to spend as much time with her as he could before he left. Her dad gave her a hard time about wanting to go but in the end, he gave her permission. I know that he was he just wanted her to know that he wanted time with her as well and loved her. Jay and I planned dinner for just the 2 of us and sat down to watch and movie on Monday. After play practice CJ walked in the door we thought that she was going out with Connor. She said that she did not feel well and just came home. I gave her some Tylenol for the headache and made her something to eat. She showered, studied some for her test, and went to sleep. The next day she got up and was feeling a little better just a little cold. At practice that evening her blood sugar dropped and I had to run up to the school to get her some juice. We did not know what was going on with the 2 days of crazy blood sugars and not feeling good. Jay got concerned that she was pregnant because she does not talk to us about her relationship with Connor. Does not talk to us at all about him. When she got home Jay took her outside for a private talk to ask her if there was any chance she was pregnant and that is why her sugar was crazy and she was not feeling good. She told him that there was no way. He was relieved but not sure if he totally believed her.
By Thursday she was feeling better and her sugars were better. She went to Regionals Thursday night and came home really excited about all that she had learned about music and the feelings that you should have when you sing. The next day was an all-day clinic and she had so much fun. Jay and I went that night to watch her perform. It was a beautiful concert and wish that we would have picked different seats because it was hard to see CJ. She loved the director of the clinic and was sad that this was her first and last Regional Clinic that she would go to.
Sunday CJ taught at Hebrew School and then met Jay and me for lunch in Greenville. I had to take Jay to the airport to fly out to Portland. He had to go out there for the week to work on some machines. He so hates traveling. CJ came with us to the airport to say goodbye and then I dropped her back off at her Jeep so that she could go meet Connor for their date. I went shopping and then home. The house was so quiet without CJ or Jay. I sat and watched girl movies. I was not sure what to do with the house so empty.
Saturday we got up and cleaned the house because Jay was going to be leaving for Portland on Sunday. CJ in the afternoon wants to help with the Miss Snow Angle pageant. She got to sing at that show as well. She sang "This is Me" from The Greatest Showman. I did not go so I had the video for me so that I could see her sing. I just did not what to sit through hours of watching little girls in a pageant just for one 3-minute song. I would have gone if CJ did not find someone to video for me. CJ said that this year was much better than last year because she was not having to deal with crazy pageant moms. She sat in the booth most of the time this year and helped with the older girls who only needed to know when to go on stage. She said that it was more fun just goofing around this year.
The week went by so fast. Work was tough like aways and CJ was busy with the play and school herself. Tuesday was Jay's birthday but he was in Portland, so we could not do anything. He said that he got a corndog and a Twix bar for dinner. On Wednesday Jay got to go over to Lydia's house for dinner after he finished. He said that he had a very nice time at her house and even with all the people. Everyone was very polite and made him feel comfortable.
Thursday is CJ's date night with Connor so I called Beth to see if she wanted to go to dinner. We went to a very nice dinner at Earl Street Kitchen. I so enjoy going out with Beth. She has the best stories and just cracks me up. CJ did not get in until let 10:00 so I stayed up and watched movies. Jay called a couple of times to let me know that he was all packed up and ready to come home.
Friday, CJ and I did not have school. CJ went to breakfast with Millie early in the morning and then went to her doctor's appointment all by herself. It was weird letting her go by herself but she was so happy to do it. She said that she was comfortable talking to her doctor. Her doctor put her on birth control. It is so sad that she is all grown up and making such adult decisions about her life. I know that I have to let her go but it is still so sad and lonely. I just pray that she does not make a mistake and that she will regrate.
Jay got in that afternoon. CJ was at work so I went by myself to pick him up. It was good to have him home. We got Chinese and cake for his birthday. We did not have 53 candle we had a 5 and three 1's so we improvised.
Monday I went to the doctor and CJ had to work most of the day. The doctor decided to take me off the depo shot so that we can see if I was in menopause. She said that they can not tell while I am taking hormones. I worried about my migraines so she told me if they get really bad just go bad on the shot.
I was feeling very off most of the day. While driving home from the doctor I got so tired that I almost fell asleep driving home and it was first thing in the morning. When I got home I just laid on the couch most of the day and dosed on and off. I must have been coming down with something but the rest did me while because the next day at work I was tired but not as bad as Monday. Wednesday I was better, but others at work were saying they felt overwhelmingly tired. CJ on the other hand went to bed on Wednesday saying that her throat hurt and she started to run a slight fever. The next morning she had a fever and I kept her home from school and made a doctor's appointment for her. She went to the doctor on her own and told me that she did not like Dr. Thrash and that he told her that she did not have strep and that it was just sinus issues but the nurse and CJ thought that it may be strep. After telling CJ she did not have strep the nurse came back with the test results and it was strep. CJ said that the doctor did not know anything. I had to agree with her.
She was running a fever most of the day and I told her she could not go to the family dinner with Conner. She stayed home the next day from school sick as well and she was not able to swing in the choir at the temple that night. She was disappointed because she had a solo she was supposed to do. She told me that Laura had the younger girls do it together because there was some argument about who was going to do CJ's solo.
Saturday CJ was feeling much better. We decided to go to Saluda Grill for a very nice birthday dinner. CJ was invited to go spend the afternoon with her friend Emma. She did not know that it was her 18th birthday and that it was a birthday party. She felt bad that she did not have a gift for her or know that it was her birthday. While CJ was at Emma's birthday Jay and I went to get our new air fryer/ toaster oven. We were so excited about it. It was a very fancy one and very expensive but it does everything and it is big enough to even cook a turkey. We had a wonderful family dinner at Saluda. I felt that the food was good but not as good as it use to be. It was just fun to go to a fancy restaurant and have dinner together. I really have to learn to take better selfies.
On Sunday CJ went to teach Hebrew school, Jay and I cleaned the house and went to give blood. I was so happy that I was able to give blood this time but while we were in the store shopping I started to not feel good. I sat down and passed out. Jay and the lady from the blood connection bus carried me back to the bus and made me stay there until I felt better. I just wanted to go home and sleep. After I was feeling better Jay and I went home and never finished grocery shopping. Jay just left our cart there. After we were home and I was just resting Jay went to the store on his own to do the grocery shopping for a second time. I think that Jay does not want me to give blood again.
Tuesday was the last day of the month. My 3rd graders were studying fractions so I brought a cake and cut it up to show them fractions of the whole. I am not sure if they enjoyed the lesson but they did enjoy the cake. They also could not figure out the whole not really my birthday, birthday. That night I had literacy night so Jay brought me dinner and a Twix bar. He said he had to bring me the Twix so that we had the same birthday dessert.
