Sakkot

I feel like I am just starting to breath. We have been so busy with me picking up a homebase student. I can not believe that 5 hours a week can really take up so much time. By the time I get home at night it is already bath and bed time. CJ has been so good while I cook dinner she has been giving herself a bath and getting dressed for bed. I just go upstairs and wash her hair and she does the rest. I bought soap that was in a pump so that she does not use too much soap. It has been working out well by the time she comes down stairs dinner is ready and we have not fought over taking a bath. I think that she likes her independence. I still worry about her being the bathroom by herself but I guess that I have to let go sometime. After we eat dinner we play some Ono games and then do flashcard of her alphabet and read books. I almost think that even with the lack of time we are getting less stressed.

Last weekend we had the neighbor’s granddaughter’s baby shower. CJ had fun playing with Markus. This weekend we went to the Sakkot picnic at temple. It was not as much fun as it had been in the past. I think that was because there just were not a lot of people there. Sunday was Hebrew school. CJ has to learn the Shamad by Oct. 29 to do during services. I thought that it was funny that she was the only child in her class that already knows it. I am the one parent in CJ’s class that knows the last about Judaism and knows no Hebrew and yet it is my child that can already say the Shamad. I guess that I am not as bad of a Jewish parent as I thought.
