Parade

Last week it was nice to have my dad home for a couple of days. He has moved out and moved to Kentucky with his girl friend. I worked his weekend moving some furniture and cleaning his room.

Tuesday CJ went to Cookies with Santa at her school. They had lots of fun activities for the kids to do. CJ got to frost a cookie, make an ornament, and color some pictures. I was very impressed with the activities but was very surprised that they had something like that at the school in the evening.

Thursday CJ was in the Christmas play at her daycare. She was a traveler in the play at was not on stage for most of the play. I was disappointed that she was not on stage more, only because I am selfish when it comes to CJ and I only wanted to see her and not the other kids. CJ on the other hand when she was on stage did a good job with all of her parts.

On Friday we were suppose to go over to the Daisy troop leaders house and work on decorating our float of the Williamston Christmas Parade. Jay said that when he got there they had not even started building the float, so Jay out in there and helped build and design the float. 3 hours later they were painting the float but it was too late of the girl to decorate. We just said that we would decorate it before the parade Saturday. Saturday afternoon we got on the float and as we waited in line for the parade to begin we worked on decorating the float. It was crazy but CJ and all the girls had a really good time throwing candy, waving at everyone and riding on the float. This was CJ first parade and Jay’s as well. This was my first time riding on a float. I had marched in parades before with color guard and the band but never on a float. After the parade was over we found out that our float had won 1st place for the best float. We could not believe that our first time building a float and CJ’s troops first time in the parade had won 1st place. It was very exciting for all of us.
