Getting Ready to start school

This week we did not do a lot. CJ and I went to the school a couple of days this week and worked on putting my classroom together. CJ has been very good this week and very helpful and so well behaved it is like she turned 6 and some of her bad attitude went away.

We went school supply shopping and CJ told me that she did not what a baby backpack this year. I asked her what a baby backpack was and she told me one that had the princesses on it or other characters. She wanted a big girl backpack for school. I can not believe that already in 1st grade she is growing up so much. We got her a pink and black backpack that had peace signs and hearts on it. She then told me that this year she would like to take her lunch to school and could we get a new lunch box. We got a big girl lunch box to. I do not know how I feel about packing her a lunch every morning but at the end of last year it seemed to work out ok, so we will see. ile

While we were shopping we told CJ that she could spend her birthday money on anything in the store that she wanted and mom could not say no because it was her birthday money. So she first looked through the toys and could not think of anything that she really wanted, so she asked if she could go to the shoe department because that was her favorite. She had so much fun looking at all the shoes and got herself a pair that she knew mom would have said no to if I was buying. It was a pair of multi colored sequined Hello Kitty shoes. She just loves them. My girl is already obsessed with shoes.

This weekend we did nothing just stayed home and thought about this up coming week and starting back to work. I am so worried about this upcoming school year. I think that CJ is worried about 1st grade to because she told me this week that she thinks that we should start doing 2 or 3 pages for each subject in her summer homework book this week to get ready for school. I have never heard a kid say that we should be doing more homework. I love my child.
