7th birthday and more

The last two weeks have been so busy.  I have been finishing up my summer classes and getting ready to start my new job.  The week of the 16 through the 20th CJ went to Art Camp.  She was there from 8 to 5 every day and loved every minute of it.  After the week was up she even asked me if she could do a second week because she had so much fun.  She made lots of really neat things with clay and painted some pretty pictures.  On her last day she got to dress as her favorite book character.  She dressed as Fancy Nancy and had her hair all done up with lots of clips and bows.
On the following Monday CJ want to her last day at the library story time.  She got some glow in the dark bracelets and I think that she and mom will miss going to the library on Mondays.  Also CJ and I had a dentist appointment; CJ has the start of 2 cavities.  So we talked about that she really needs to brush her teeth twice a day.
Wednesday Bear could no longer stand and was not eating or drinking, so we had to make a tough decision and we had to put him down.  It was so sad.  I am so going to miss that dog, but I hope that we never get another dog.  Because there will never be another dog like Bear he was just a typical dog.  He was just so well behaved.
On Friday Jay and CJ had a fun father daughter day and went for a nice hike.
On Saturday we had CJ’s 7th birthday party.  It was at a water park called Discovery Island.  She had such a good time and I think that all of her friends did to.  She wanted a dolphin theme party so I got stuffed dolphins and bracelets for her friends. It was hot but CJ and her friends stayed cool in the water.  She loved all of her gifts and has been playing with everything.
Sunday was CJ’s birthday and I made her a dolphin cake.  I was very surprised how well the cake tried out. On Saturday she got some money for her birthday so she wanted to go shoe shopping.  We sent into town and she had fun finding a pair of shoes that she wanted.  She picked a very nice pair of black sandals with heal.  In the evening we had Sloppy Joes for dinner and Hilda our neighbor came over with her great grandbabies for cake.  CJ was so excited when we gave her her first American Girl doll.  She is just loving her Rebecca and has carries her everywhere.
On Monday, I had a midterm exam for my school law class.  CJ got up that morning came in the kitchen as I was getting ready for school and picked up my ipad.  She then started trying to quiz me with my flash cards that were on the ipad.  She followed me around the house and was asking me questions from the flash card.  I was so grateful to her for her trying to help.
