First weeks of the year

In the last two weeks we had not done much, until last weekend.  CJ started selling Girl Scout cookies.  On Monday when we sent to family reading night her principal told me that CJ came up to her and said, “Do you know what I am doing?” the principal asked what and CJ told her  “I am selling Girl Scout cookies.”  Her principal told me that it was so cute the way that she did it that she almost ruined her diet and bought a box.  That’s my girl she loves selling those cookies.  At Hebrew school she was talking to a lady in the bathroom and get her to buy cookies from her.

Last Sunday, we had the ice cream sadar at temple.  CJ was fun filling herself with ice cream.

This weekend we sent to the American Girl Doll Club meeting.  Were CJ and her friends had fun playing games and learning about friendship.  On Saturday, we went to the Battle of Cow Pen reenactment.  CJ has been learning about the Revolutionary war and some of the great battles that were fought here in South Carolina.  So we went and had a really good time.  We walked a lot and my feet hurt at the end but it was amazing to live history like that.  What was more amazing was to know that my great, great, great, great, great, grandfather Captain James Kincaid fought in that Battle on January 17, 1781.  It just made it more real for all of us.  At the end of the day CJ earned a medal for walking and a badge for being a junior ranger.

CJ is bringing her grades back up in school.  This week she will bring home her report card and for the first time she did not have all straight “A”.  She got a “B” in social studies. I think that she is learning that she is going to have to learn to study more.
