To the Beach

We have had a lot of fun things happening in the last couple of weeks. I have been busy and keep forgetting to write a blog.

At Hebrew school we had our annual mock Sader.  Rabbi’s wife asked if I would make a crocheted Sader plate.  So I made one and I was surprised how well it turned out.  CJ always enjoys the mock Sader but she still will not eat all the food on the Sader plate.  She is really learning her Hebrew and prays.  I am so proud of her and amazed.  In her school parent journal I see she will write to me in Hebrew it is really neat to see.

April started off so much fun.  Jay had a BBQ competition at the beach.  So I took a day off work and CJ and I want with him.  The weather was great and our campsite was very nice.  We laughed and had fun on Friday.  CJ was so happy to be playing on the beach.  She told me that someday she was going to have a house at the beach.  I told her that would be great and I hope she does, so I can come stay with her. We finely got to see the alligator that everyone that the campground takes about.  I thought that we were excited to finely see him and 2 others.  One of the alligators even was moving and catching fish. She found a bunch of starfish.  I have never seen so many starfish and CJ was very happy to find them.  She told me I was not to put them in bleach this time because last time when I did that the starfish melted. Friday night I got a migraine that was so bad I could not stop throwing up.  I felt so bad because the next morning I could not get up and take CJ to the beach.  Jay took her and his fishing poll.  While they were out fish Jay caught a small shark.  CJ thought that was just the greatest.  I was sad I missed it.  Jay went to is BBQ competition and CJ had to eat a lunchable for breakfast because I was still to sick to make her anything.  After I started to feel a little better I took her to the Education center there at the campground.  She enjoys that place, but was sad that they did not have the stingray anymore.  CJ was doing her research project at school on Sea turtles so she enjoyed watching a video on the sea turtle hospital and rescue.  When we got back to the campsite Jay was already done with his judging.  He said that there was nothing better when waking up catching a shark and having great BBQ all before 11:00 in the morning.  CJ and Jay went back to the beach to play and I rested some more.  Finely, we had to pack up the camper and head home.  We had to go home early because I had double booked myself for stuff.  Shalomfest was that same weekend and I had volunteered to run the life cycle events.  We got home late and CJ was not happy with me for having to leave the beach early.

Sunday, we got up and went to Shalomfest.  After I got CJ her wrist band and she got to spend the day jumping in the bouncy houses she was just fine and forgot about me taking her away for the beach.  That girl jumped from 10:30 until 4:30 when we left. She also was old enough to help run one of the activities.  She thought she was such a big girl being about to run the question wheel and tell people the correct answer to questions about being Jewish.  I was surprised that she did not fall asleep in the car on the way home.

This week we build CJ’s model for her sea turtle presentation at school and was able to use really sand that we got at the beach.  She got a 100% on her project. It was funny Jay and I asked CJ about what some of the other students projects were about.  She started telling us about every ones project.  She told us one of her friends did it on an animal that name started with an “A”.  I tried to guess what the animals name was but could not.  She said that it climbed tresses and had long arms.  Jay said, “Is it an Orangutan?”  CJ said yes that was it.  I said that Orangutan does not start with an “A”.  Jay just laughed and said it does if you speak Southern. At school CJ also got into big trouble this week.

She got an office referral for hitting another student.  I was so mad and so was Jay.  CJ was being a bully and that was not going to fly with us.  She got grounded, losing TV and deserts for the rest of the week.  She also was not aloud to us any electronics, not even her radio at night.  We really hope that she learned a big lesson and will never do anything like that again.  As a teacher getting a call from the principal is not fun, special when you just applied for that job.

This week Montse and Ellie are coming from Arizona and we are so excited.  I have so many fun things planned.  I just can not wait for them to get her.
