New Year

This month has flown by.  One the first day of the New Year we all went up to Biltmore.  This was Jay’s first time up there.  We had so much fun showing him all of the things that we like.  I do not know if he liked it as much as us, but in the end he bought a season pass for himself.  He walked and walked and made lots of plans for all the things that we are going to do up there this year.  This was the best way to start the New Year.

The next day I took CJ ice skating for the first time.  We went with some of her friends.  Even I got on ice skates.  CJ had fun and I was glad that I got her a walker.  I do not think that she would have had as much fun.  She did not want help so the walker helped her skate and do it independently.  When Kyle tried to help her she just said that she was too scared and wanted to go back to using the walker.   I was surprised that I was able to remember how to ice skate and besides falling twice because people hit me it was not bad.

Jay took CJ to the Girl Scout father daughter dance.  The theme this year was “Once Upon a Time” so CJ dressed up like Elsa from Frozen.  Jay really did not what to go but he told CJ that if she kept her grades up and did not get in trouble at school he would take her to the dance and they would stay the how time this year.  He kept his word and they stayed the whole time.

We went to the American Girl Doll Club meeting.  Jay said that he is going to come with us one of these times just so that he can see the museum because he has never been to the Anderson Museum.  CJ had so much fun this time doing the crafts that she forgot to get up for the group pictures.  I started taking pictures and then noticed that she was not in the picture.  I had to tell her that she had to stop just for a minute working on her fan and come of a picture.  I can not believe that I did not notice at first that she was not in the picture.

One Monday when we had off from school I took CJ to get her hair cut.  She has been driving me crazy about wanting to get her hair cut short and donate her hair.  I love her long her, but it was time.  I was so glad that we did not have to cut it to short.  She just loved her new hair and all the way home was telling me how much she loved her hair cut.

Last Saturday, her friend Claire came over to play of the day so that Claire’s parents could go out.  The two girls were so good all day, so Jay gave both of them a new Monster High doll.  It was nice to be able to watch Claire because Claire’s mom takes CJ for me every week on Thursdays so that CJ can go to Palmetto Singers.

This week on Wednesday, I had some minor surgery and have not been able to do much.  I had to take 2 weeks off work and I hope that I do not get to bored sitting at home.  Jay and I since the beginning of the year have been trying to eat healthier and get more exercise.  We have been doing great up until this week with the surgery, it has put a damper on working out.
