March

This month we have been doing lots of fun stuff.  At Hebrew school we had our Purim carnival.  The theme this year was Frozen.  CJ did not want to be Elsa because she thought that everyone was going to be her.  So she wanted to be Anna.  I made her a purple cape and she was a beautiful Anna. This year at the carnival they did not have big girl bouncy houses so CJ did not have as much fun, but she did enjoy running around for a while with her friends and winning a cupcake it the cake walk. Last week we had the mock Seder for the kids, CJ still does not eat anything on the Seder plate except for Matzo and horseradish.

The next week CJ did not go to Hebrew school because she went to the beach with her dad. It rained most of the time but they still had fun.  CJ helped with the BBQ judging by handing out water and pencils.  Then she helped clean up.  They gave her an hour of community service for Beta Club.  CJ became a member of Beta club and has to do 5 hours of community service.  They had so much fun together.  They went to Friendly’s and had ice cream and dinner. They fished and played on the beach.  CJ told me that Dad did not make her eat vegetables all weekend.

We have had lots of Girl Scout activities.  CJ and her friend Claire got to do a cookie booth together.  CJ still loves selling those cookies.  We have also had meetings getting ready of Birthday Bash and last night was Birthday Bash.  CJ at the Birthday Bash got her 5 year pin. CJ was to go to a Girl Scout event at Clemson University but my Best friend Cathy called and invited us to Florida for a couple of days.  When I asked CJ which thing she wanted to do she told me that there was no question.  Family always comes first so we need to go see Aunt Cathy.

Saturday we had a girl’s day.  We went to CJ’s American Girl Doll club meeting and then out for a light lunch (Subway CJ’s favorite that is not CeCe’s Pizza Buffet). After that we went to get our nails done.  It was just a fun day just the two of us. Jay stayed home and cooked lots of BBQ.  CJ was just in heaven.  That girl loves her meat.

Jay and I have been eating better and walking every day.  CJ asked one day before Girl Scouts if we could just walk to Girl Scouts.  I thought that was such a great idea.  So we walked to Girl Scouts.  It really was not as far as I thought; I just wish we would have had more sidewalks.  One day when CJ and Jay were walked they came upon the Palmetto girl’s softball game.  CJ had never seen a softball game before so they stopped and watched a while.  We are really taking this being healthier seriously.  Not every day does CJ like going with us and some days she complains more than others but it is nice that she is trying right with us.  She was happy that his week she could wrap her arms all the way around her dad.
