June 2017

The first week in June we started to wrap up the school year.  CJ had her awards day.  Not all students get an award as my school. Only the students that are top in their class for that teacher.  CJ receive an award from her Choir teacher.  I was so proud of her and could not believe that she was going an award.

The weekend before school got out we spend most of Friday and Saturday trying to get all the things on CJ's list for Camp.  The list was very long.  We went to Goodwill because she had to have 18 pair of shorts and she only had 2.  It was said shopping on Saturday because I wanted to get CJ everything that she wanted but the cost was so high that I really could not afford it.  Sometime I hate having to be practical.  I just want to spoil my kid.

That Sunday CJ and I went up to her Choir directors house in the mountains.  The house was beautiful and the views were incredible.  We had a pot luck and the choir practiced.  Everyone wished CJ lots of good wishes at camp and told her that they would write.

The rest of the week we packed up my classroom and finished everything for the close of the school year.  Thursday and Friday we started to pack all of CJ's belonging into two bags for camp.  Saturday we spend to day together as a family.  We went for a nice motorcycle ride and to dinner that night.

Sunday morning we got up and went for breakfast at the Waffle House.  CJ wanted everything on the menu but then did not what to eat anything.  She said that it was not good.  I think she was just nervous about getting to camp.  We got there and there was a long line to get into the camp.  We had to wait in the car for a long time.  We got CJ all registered and were told that we could walk around the camp with her until 12:30.  After we unpacked and got her bed made she just wanted to sit on her bed for a bit and watch.  One girl came in and was hugging all the girls that she already knew in the cabin and then come up to CJ gave her a big hug and told her she was happy to have a new friend.  At that point in time CJ ask Jay and I to leave and just go home. I ask if she wanted us to walk around the camp ground with her and she told us no that we could just go home.  I could not believe that she had kicked us out.  But at the same time I was glad that she was ready to start her new adventurer at camp.  I think that I have my own insecurities about camp because of my own personal experiences.  I always have to remember that CJ is not me.

After we left the camp Jay took me to Helen, GA and we walked around and went shopping.  Jay got me a new dress and then we went home.

I started my week with out CJ by painting her playroom, hallway, closet, and bathroom.  I was going to do more but by Thursday I had moved to much by myself and ended up having to go in for emergency Hemorrhoidectomy surgery.  This was the worst pain that I think I have ever been through and for 2 weeks I could not barely get off the couch but to run to the bathroom.  It was not fun.  I looked forward to my letters from CJ.  All the letters were short and telling me what a great time she was having.  Nothing about that she was missing us or anything.  Sometimes that letters asked for me to send things but most were just saying what a great time she was having.   She stated that she is learning a lot and all the girls are just like her.  She signed up for media production, yoga (which she said she loves), volleyball,  ropes coarse, swimming, and drama.  She got into the play but did not get the lead part that she wanted. She wanted the lead of the Queen of Hearts. She will be playing Violet and a card soldier in their production of "Alice in Wonderland: the musical." She said that the food is great and Shabbot is amazing.  She is loving the games that they get to play and really liked water American Ninja Warriors. We will have to ask her more about what that was when she gets back.

I did get a call from the camp doctor yesterday to tell me that CJ had gotten on ear infection and that they needed my permission to prescribe her antibiotics.  They said that she was ok just that her ear was hurting, but she will be fine.

I know that she is having so much fun but I can not wait to go get her.  She still has one more week.
