July 2017

July just flew by we did not do much because about a week after CJ left from camp I had to have hemorrhoid surgery. It was the most painful surgery I have every had and I felt like recovery was going to take forever. I was in so much pain that I just did not feel like doing anything.  As I started to feel better I started back working on the house.  We started with going to IKEA and getting book shelves for the living room and bedroom.  Jay and I put them together and they looked great in the living room were I was able to clean but all my yarn and display my antique books.

July 7th I picked CJ up from camp.  The first thing that she said to me was that she had so much fun and it was not long enough.  I could not believe that after a month she was not ready to go home.  I was so happy that she had such a great time.  All the way home she talked about camp and all the things that she did until she was to tired to talk anymore, because she was so tired.  She had been up late the night before and the camp had to walk the kids early because some had early flights out that day.

It was nice having CJ back home.  I had missed her.  It was funny how one child can make the house so much more noisy.  I thank that she was glad to be home to but she would not admit it.

That weekend we went to Georgia for Garrett's birthday.  We had a nice lunch and then drove back.  CJ always loves seeing her brother and annoys him because he does not know how to talk to her and she does not know how to talk to him.
The next week we went to the pediatrician for CJ's 12 year old visit.  She had to get two shots (TEDAP and meningitis vaccine).  She did well with the shots and knew they were coming so she did not complain.  She just wanted her cookie from Publics after.  The doctor stated that she was in another growth spurt and by the time she finishes growing she should be 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 9.  CJ was just happy to be 5 foot 4 which means that she is taller than me.  The doctor stated that she was in good health and gave her some face wash to help with her acne.   The next day I want to the doctor and he said that I was healing nice but still needed to take it easy.

CJ has been growing so much we went shopping.  CJ learned a very valuable lesson.  Before we went to camp she really wanted this dress from Charming Charlies.  It was expensive and I told her with all the other things that we were buying for camp I really could not afford it.  While we were shopping we went to Charming Charlies because they had a good sale going on.  She dress she wanted so bad before camp was on sale for 50% off the 50% off price.  We got the dress she loved for very cheap.  Some times you just need to wait for sales.  We were also able to get several other dresses and shirts for less then we would have payed for that one dress when it was not on sale.

The next week we went and had CJ's birthday pictures done.  She looked so grown up in the pictures.  She is just growing up so fast.
I finely was feeling well enough to start working on my kitchen remodel.  CJ and I worked on taking all the cabinets down taking off all the hardware and sanding them.  We spend days sanding.  The junk on the cabinets were thick.  Then we painted them gray.  As I was painting them gray (only because Jay said that he did not want white again and I saw gray cabinets at IKEA and liked them)  I read an article that painted Gray cabinets were one of the most popular styles for 2017. I was in fashion for once.  We changed the handles and hings.  The cabinets did not look the same.  It looked so good and the kitchen looks bigger. You can see up close all the floss in the cabinets and that they are still the same but from a distance you would like that we got all new cabinet doors. We are not finished yet but we are getting there.
The end of the month came fast and it was CJ's birthday before we knew it.  She wanted breakfast in bed and to go to the water park that she goes to every year.  She then wanted chicken wings for dinner because it was national chicken wing day.  For her breakfast she wanted yogurt with chocolate chips and granola.  She said that is want she had most days at camp and loved it.
CJ was suppose to have a couple of friends come to the water park with us but only one friends was able to.  She still had a great time with her best friend from 6th grade Millie.

When we got home the girls rested and then my friend Kirri come over for dinner.  I make a birthday cake that was in the shape of a piano for CJ.  She wanted my fudge cake that I make for Hanukkah.  The cake was good but it was hard to shape.  So when I make the other cake for her choir I just made a box mix cake with store bought frosting.  At the end of dinner CJ wanted to play some songs that she had been working on.  For her birthday, she got a new purse, gift card from Charming Charlies, BB8 watch and alarm clock, lotions, BB8 wall picture and notebook.  We also got her a new bed spread that was more adult.

CJ had her friend spend the night and they were up most of the night watching movies.  They were so tired the next day but CJ was not going to let that stop her.  Her friend Millie on the other hand just wanted to go home and go to bed.  Because she did not what to go shopping and to choir practice with CJ: CJ was very upset and did not what to talk to anyone and kept saying that she was bored.  I was just hoping that it was not that Millie was upset at CJ but that she was just really tired.
