the glasses on. It was spectacular but did not last every one just a couple of minutes and it was over.
With Glasses on
Full Eclipse no glasses
The next day, I had to start back to work. I thought CJ was old enough to leave on her own, but she wanted to go spend the days with her best friend Millie. On most of the days I dropped her off at Millie's and they played until it was the time for me to come get her. On Thursday, she came to school with me because I had piano lessons. Monday she came to school with me as well so that she could do 7th-grade orientation. We were able to leave at lunch so CJ and I went out to lunch before we had to start our first day of school. CJ really loved her Gateway to technology class and was not happy with her Choir class this year. She said that because her new choir teacher comes from an Elementry school that she treated them like little kids and she just did not like it. She really liked her ELA teacher and thought that she was going to really enjoy ELA this year.
CJ during the summer for piano lessons was to write a piece of music. CJ found a poem of her dads that he wrote before he met me. It was called home and was a very sad poem. CJ liked it and decided that was what she was going to write music for. The weekend after school started she got to sing and perform the song that she wrote. She did a really good job with the piece and it was neat seeing all the over children that had written songs of their own. CJ was the only one that wrote and sung a song. I really like CJ's new piano teacher I think that she is challenging CJ. CJ was caught not telling the truth to her piano teacher. She was marking down times that she was practicing when she was not really practicing. Jay and I were very upset about it. She was made to tell her piano teacher the truth and then for a week, she was not able to take create for any of her practice time. I was then to sign off on all of her practice time before she could take create for it. We were so disappointed that she was lying. After she was caught she said that she wanted to quit piano. Jay and I would not let her do that. We think that because she loves singing and music so much piano is good for her. So she is continuing with piano. 7th grade is going to be a tough one for us.
On August 30th my Uncle John came to visit us. I have never in my whole life gotten to spend time with my Uncle. It has always been hours here or there but mostly my mom was there so we never really got to know each other. It was a great visit and fun to talk and ask him questions about his life. Not just my mom's version of things. I am was very upset that he came and that we were going to do family research. She said that is what she wanted to do. I told my mom that she was welcome to fly out and come with us, but of course, she was not going to do that.
