March 2021

March started off uneventful.  We started planning our trip to Arizona and it got crazy with my family.  CJ decided that things were going nowhere with CL so she was done with him and tired of the mean girls at school.  I was tired of the mean students that I have this year.  So we both decided to try and focus on the fun stuff and enjoy life.  Do our best and keep going.  I will keep trying to apply for a new job and CJ will focus on play and doing best in school.

CJ's best friend Millie's birthday was coming up so Millie picked up CJ and they went to dinner just the 2 of them with no parents.  It was so worrying how grown up they have become.  CJ said that it was so great to see Millie.  It had been a month since they had seen each other because they have been so busy.  While the girls were out Jay and I went to dinner and grocery shopping.  Jay was saying that he thought it was nice that lately, we have gotten this some time together just the two of us.

This was a rough week for all of us at work and school.  On Thursday, my day was so bad the students almost made me cry with their behavior in class, but I had to run and take a medical form to CJ's doctor so so that CJ can go to camp this summer.  When I got to the doctor's office there was this lady sitting on the porch of the office.  She talked to me telling me her back hurt.  I was very nice and told her that it was going to be ok and went in to drop the papers off.  When I came out she was still there and asked if I could take her to the bus stop.  I took her.  Everyone told me how dangerous that was but someone was looking out for me because it was all good and I was able to help someone out.  After that, I felt so much better.  I was not able to help my students Thursday learn to read but I was able to help a disabled lady make it to the bus stop.

The weather got better and better, by Thursday after work we decided to go for a family motorcycle ride. It was very nice to be on the bikes and riding as a family.  Jay and I said that it would have been really nice if we were not dieting and could have stopped for ice cream or even dinner.

Friday night it was again so nice.  Jay built a bonfire in the yard and the 3 of us sat outside around the fire.  CJ and Jay played music and sang.  It was so nice, none of the bad stuff from work mattered at that time.  Listening to my husband and daughter sing together and play was great.

Saturday Jay and I spent time just working on or motorcycles.  I polished the chrome on my bike and Jay changed the oil on his.  CJ stayed in the house most of the day watching Marvel movies.

The next week went by pretty fast and I quit worrying so much about everything with work and the upcoming trip to Arizona.  Monday CJ's Tandem Tslim pump came in the mail.  We then got an appointment to teach us how to use it and put it on for Wednesday.  So I took the whole day off of work.  I picked CJ up on Wednesday and we headed to Greenville.  We were going to go to Jimmy Johns for lunch but CJ saw how close to White Horse Rd we were and asked if we could go for Mexican at Las Meras Tortas.  It is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants that we have around here. While we were there for lunch CJ thought it would be funny to take a picture of our food and send it to Jay because he was not with us.  He sent back a text saying that we were mean.

We got the Tandem training,  it was a lot of information but CJ is so smart she picked up on it fast.  I was surprised at all the things that we have to remember to do. For example, we have to turn it off when we take or and land when flying.  She has to take it off when on gravity-defining amusement park rides. She has a button on the pump to suspend her insulin while she is working out and so much more.  CJ loved the fact that she would not have to give herself a shot but every 3 days when she changed her tubing and infusion set.  She also loved the fact that she did not have to leave Spanish class early every day to go to the nurse.  She was so happy with it.  We were supposed to be at training for 3 hours but after one and a half hours CJ got it and we got to leave.  CJ was happy because she could make it back to school in time to take her chemistry quiz and still get to go to play practice.  I could not believe that she wanted to go back to school to take a quiz.

Saturday CJ got to volunteer at the Museum where they hosted the first American Girl Club meeting in over a year.  CJ was happy to get out her costume and get dressed up for the little girls.  We got her a black wig because her hair is colored but the wig did not fit.  So we just put the braids in and called it good. CJ so enjoyed being able to work with the girls and they did Rebecca so CJ was able to show them how to write their name in Hebrew.  After the Club Meeting, we picked up a friend of CJ's so that they could go skating.  This time the skating adventure was not as much drama.

The next week we got ready for our trip to California and Arizona.  I got CJ a facial to help with her acne and we had her hair touched up.  It was a busy week and over the weekend CJ and I worked on trying to pack and make sure that we had everything that we needed for our trip.  We had to go shopping because CJ did not have enough shorts for the trip.

I had picked up CJ from school on the motorcycle.  She is a great passager but I did not release that my hip was not as good as I thought so when she went to get off the bike I dropped it.  I broke my windshield.  My windshield was very old and in rough sharp, to begin with, so this was the perfect excuse for me to get a new windshield and I just ordered new saddlebags to go with it.  I am hoping to do more riding this year.  I love the new windshield and saddlebags.  We also spent some time cleaning the bikes and polishing the chrome.  My arms hurt so much the next day from all the polishing.
